I own a number of various St. Croix Rods, and their without a doubt the best brand of fishing rods in the business, with as good of a warranty policy as you’ll see when compared to most other rod manufacturers, that is until you actually break one of there rods and request a replacement. Finally after years of both fishing, and promoting their fine rods, to bass club members, family, and friends that St. Cloix claims they stand behind their rods with a great warranty should you ever break one,. Well, it finally happened. I own and fish a half dozen of their fine rods, and I’ve never had a problem until awhile back when I rare back during a hook-set, and the rod snapped about the midway point between the butt, and the tip. According to their warranty, all you have to do to receive a replacement rod, is fill out a claim, photo the broken rod, including a photo of the serial number, email photos and claim to their email address, and they’ll send you a new rod, for a reasonable handling fee. I filled out the claim, took the necessary photos of the rod, and serial number, and charged their handling fee to my credit card. St. Croix Company took my credit card fee, but months later, not only have they not sent my replacement rod, they’ve not responded to my numerous emails questioning the status of my promised replacement rod, they’ve not returned any of my numerous phone calls I’ve made, nor have they to date refunded my credit card payment……….. Love their rods, but they’ve screwed me with their fictitious warranty claims, and to add insult to injury, beat me out of my credit card payment I made in good faith fully expecting the St. Croix Company to honor their product warranty………….. I’ll continue to fish the remaining St Croix rods I own, because they’re fantastic, but I’ll never purchase another rod from they’re company, and I’ll spread the word far and wide that they’re warranty promises is a lie, and they’re refusing to refund the credit card replacement fee is fraudulent. ... show more
