Description

The Omega Pro adds an extension arm to help get reel higher off the water or helps accommodate longer rod butts. The Omega Pro attaches to kayak, boat, or other watercraft with LockNLoad mounting system. Offering unrivaled track mount security and adjustability, the patent pending LockNLoad track base is the most advanced track mount ever created. You want no slip? No problem. The LockNLoad track base attaches quickly and easily with a single MightyBolt but will not accidentally rotate or loosen from the track, even when your trolling rod takes a big hit. There are 3 modes: locked, adjustment, removal. The patent pending design is easy to use: - From locked mode, simply squeeze a lever to go into adjustment mode. - In adjustment mode, the mount can be rotated in any direction, but cannot be removed, ensuring the rod holder is completely secure while making adjustments, even if a fish hits. Let go of the lever and you are back in locked mode. - To go to removal mode, flip the lever out, and the system easily slides off of the track mount.

  • I absolutely LOVE these rod holders!
I'm new to YakAttack products, and found this in a review while looking for recommendations on rod holders that would elevate my fishing pole to get the fishing pole out of my kayak so they'd stop rubbing on my legs. This rod holder does the trick. But I felt it was a bit pricey for what it is. I ordered one anyway just to try it, and found that there's more to love about this design than just the elevated adjustable neck. I also love the YakAttack quick-release, quick adjust mount. It's amazing that I can just squeeze the base and make quick adjustments to my rod angle without having to physically lift the unit out of notches, as with all the other mount types. The fact that the rod holder can't physically fall out if my kayak tips over is great, but it's also easy to release and remove the rod holder in one swift movement with a single hand. In short, it's the perfect kayak rod holder, and thus well worth the price. I promptly ordered a second one for the other side of my kayak. ... show more

  • Quality rod holder-kayak troll fishing.
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Pretty solid rod holder for kayak fishing or boat using a track mount system. I am happy with its strength and adjustability in the two pivot points. This makes it better than most entry level rod holders. My wish list- if the stem of rod holder was about 6” taller in height so it keeps the rod butt further from leg in most commonly used application on a kayak. (See photos below with Kokanee rod mounted for trolling) Ease of use: Easy to snap into place and tighten with track system. Sturdiness: Feels strong and will not wiggle if on a solid track mount system that is not plastic. Plastic might wiggle a little. No problems troll fishing for Kokanee, trout, land locked coho. I have not been able to test on big salmon or steelhead yet. ... show more

  • Rad Rod Holder
Works great with my Hobie Lynx and I use it for trolling all the time. It's stable and easy to adjust and take on/off. I plan on getting another one soon for the other side of my kayak.

  • Holds my rod better than my ex ever held a commitment
Now I’ve been through more rod holders than Aunt Patty’s been through divorces, and let me tell y’all—this here YakAttack Omega Pro? She’s the one. If this thing had a heartbeat, I’d take her to the county fair and win her a funnel cake. First off, installation was so easy even my cousin Ricky (who once duct-taped a trolling motor to a pool noodle) could’ve done it. Just slap it on your track, clickity-click with that LockNLoad system, and BOOM—you’re fishin’ more secure than a possum in a pie safe. The adjustability? Lawd have mercy. I twisted and turned this thing every which way 'til it looked like it was tryin’ to pick up satellite TV. You can angle it, raise it, tilt it, and it still locks down tighter than Grandpa's mason jar of pickled okra. I took it out last weekend and landed a catfish big enough to qualify as a missing Florida resident. This rod holder didn’t flinch. Meanwhile, I was hollerin’ like I won a scratch-off. ... show more

  • Sturdy and maneuverable
I purchased this for an upcoming kayak camping trip. It fits the factory track that is mounted on the removable pod on my Old Town Loon 126. Its sturdy and easy to mount and seems to stay in place. Definetly recommend so far.

  • Expensive, but extra range & security are good for fly rods
This is pricey, but is better than the competition. I bought it for a 10' Hobie Kayak and it's narrow, so the ability to extend the rods out and away from the kayak is useful. It's not a long reach, but enough to get the reels out of the working area. The other nice thing is that the elevation is adjusted in smaller incremements than the Scotty rod holders and it's spring loaded so you can keep them just loose enough to move them if you want to. The indents are also such that you can lay a fly reel over on its side and it will keep it from slipping forward if a fish grabs it whereas the Scotty and other brands I've tried won't. The only things I don't like are that the front opening isn't wide enough. A fat fly reel cork won't easily slide through it so I actually have to either force it through or end up bringing the rod backwards so the narrowest end of the cork comes out. That's not necessarily a deal killer as that also adds a level of protection against losing your rod. The other thing is that the complicated mechanism to release the lock sometimes sticks and it's trickier than I'd like to get it to spin and then reseat. I've also had troubles getting it off. I do feel like I'm not going to accidentally lose it, but the mechanism still needs improvement so that it's smooth. I often times squeeze it to turn it and it won't turn until I fiddle with it more, and when I squeeze the lever underneath to open the mechanism to remove it, it won't come off until I fiddle with it. It's nice you can theoretically do it one-handed whereas the Scotty needs one hand to twist, the other hand to lift & turn. I now wish I could return my Scotty rod holder and pay the difference for two of these YakAttacks. ... show more
