Description

The Ortega RU Series Ukuleles are constructed with a Spruce top and Sapele back and sides in satin finish. This Baritone model is a 485mm scale complete with 18 frets and a laser engraved design. From the Manufacturer Ortega offers a broad range of traditional Sopranino, Soprano, Concert, Tenor and Baritone body sizes. Rounded out with our Ukebasses & 6-string Guitarleles. Selected models are equipped with our own preamp and built-in tuner. Whether you are a beginner, an enthusiast, or performing professionally, Ortega has the instrument for you.

It should state laminated spruce top. It said spruce top theres no way of telling by the pictures. It greatly affects the acoustic values to the downside. Nice construction, tuners hold, electronic tuner works, my favorite type strings. Needs general setup for the action.

The sound is great, but I have some issues. When I received it, the G & D strings were switched and they cut too much off the D string to switch, so I put on a set of low G tenor strings, which worked nicely. I just turned it to a regular Uke tuning. Also the fret edges we're still sharp, so I sanded them with 400 grit metal sandpaper, seemed to help. Also one of the tuners has a bad spot. I also noticed the tuning pegs are hollow, which shows they're cheap. I will probably change them. ... show more

Very nice tenor ukulele. Quality electronics. Tuners are excellent. Minor negative is that the fret ends are sharp but a little sanding will fix that. Comes with hi g 4th string, suggest going to lo. Recommend. No gig bag, needs one. Great sound plugged in! Laminate top, but that is OK.

I bought this cheap because it had been returned due to two frets being high, creating a buzzing noise instead of notes. As I am a luthier it was easy to level and crown the frets. Now it looks and plays great, for the price($80) it was a great deal.

First thing I notice is that the tuners were installed crooked. Also the frets edges were not very smooth. Not worth the money. Sent it back

Nicely made unit. Plays great and sounds great too. Built in tuner is nice.. (just have to remember to turn the tuner off when not using it so you don't kill your battery)
