This is a very handy and great little tool to have when doing a brake job on any car. I used to use a large "C" clamp to compress the caliper pistons but this is just so much easier and more convenient to use and the caliper hangars are a nice bonus as well, I don't need to use bungee cords or zip ties anymore!!!

Everyday durable tool, I use it daily on brake jobs and so far so good. The middle handle return spring could be slightly stronger but other than that it works perfect. If your having a hard time compressing with this tool then you probably have a seized brake caliper or crimped brake hose.

I used this tool for a brake job and overall it worked very well. It made compressing the caliper pistons much easier and faster than trying to do it with basic hand tools. The construction feels sturdy, and it handled the job without any issues for the most part. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that one of the components got stuck the first time I used it. At first, I thought I had broken the tool, but after a little troubleshooting I was able to get it working again. It hasn't been a problem since, but it was a frustrating moment during the initial use. Other than that, the tool performed exactly as expected and made the brake job much easier. I'd still recommend it, especially considering the value and convenience it provides.

This thing definitely works. It helped me complete my brake job on my 2020 Subaru Forrester without having to use the old-fashioned C clamp. It’s a basic design if you have a calipers with two pistons, you’ll still need to use something to go across them so you can squeeze them both together back into their cylinders.

Defective Tool, Would Not Compress Brake Caliper. Unfortunately, the unit I received appears to be defective. Out of the box, the tool looked well made and seemed to operate normally when there was no load on it. However, as soon as I attempted to use it on a brake caliper, it completely failed. When I squeezed the handle, the piston would not move at all. The handle simply closed without generating any meaningful force. I could even stop the piston with my hand, which confirms the tool was not creating enough pressure to compress the caliper piston. I've used similar brake compression tools before and expected this one to work the same way, but it was completely unusable for the job. The piston mechanism was defective; it made waste a lot of time when replacing my brake pads. I ended up having to use a different tool to complete the brake job. Very disappointing. I would not recommend this product unless the manufacturer improves quality control.
