  • Great product, must have for bushing removal on automobiles
Item is exactly as advertised, this is a must have for anyone attempting to remove their front control arms and bushings. The spreader was exactly what I needed to get the bushings off our 1999 BMW Z3. Using the tool saved me hours of work. The parts in the kit are well made and strong enough to do the job, really like the fit and function of the carrying case too. ... show more

  • Nice quality
I picked up the Orion Motor Tech Inner Tie Rod End Tool & Ball Joint Separator Set for some front-end suspension work, and it’s honestly one of those tools that makes you wonder how you ever managed without it. The 2-in-1 design is super convenient — it handles both tie rod removal and ball joint separation without needing multiple bulky tools. The 1/2" drive socket and 3/8" drive tie rod clamp fit perfectly with standard ratchets, and the grip feels solid and secure even under pressure. It’s made from durable, heavy-duty steel, so there’s no flex or slipping when you’re cranking on a stubborn joint. The design makes it easy to reach tight spaces, especially when working under the car or around the suspension arms. I used it on a Chevy and later on a Ford, and it worked great both times — smooth, no damage to the parts, and it saved me a ton of time compared to a hammer-and-pry-bar setup. For anyone who does their own steering or suspension repairs, this OMT set is a reliable, well-built addition to the toolbox. Definitely worth it for DIYers and small garage pros alike. ... show more

  • Not for truck lower ball joints.
Looks like a nice kit but can’t get the job done on lower f150 ball joints. These do not open up enough.

  • Decent Set, Except for the Socket
I've been generally satisfied with Orion tools. Overall, this kit didn't disappoint, except for the 21mm socket; it is NOT the one pictured in the listing (see accompanying photo). The one that I got is a cheap thin-walled socket with the chrome plating already flaking off before it was even used. I can't help but feel that it will crack with the first application of heavy torque. Heck, it doesn't even have the size -- or anything else -- engraved on it. It seems like it was a hasty afterthought thrown in when the quality sockets ran out. Not reminiscent of other OMT sets I have. Fortunately, the rest of the tools in the set do seem pretty sturdy. OMT is also better than most suppliers about providing documentation -- instructions on tool use and care as well as how to get in touch with them. This isn't exactly a pro-level product, but for someone who doesn't do a lot of these jobs, these tools should serve well. At the current asking price, I think it's a pretty good value. ... show more

  • Another great Orion tool!
Orion Motor Tech Inner Tie Rod End Tool & Ball Joint Separator Set, 2-in-1 Tie Rod Removal Tool & Ball Joint Spread Tool Set, Ball Joint Removing Tool with 1/2" Drive Socket 3/8" Drive Tie Rod Clamp An excellent tool to make a tough job easier! The ball joint on some import cars are infamous for their ability to stick in place.Removal then usually involves a torch and a lot of bad language. So this tool will allow you remove the ball joints by 'spreading' them, this (usually) will allow removal without damage. The set allow includes some tie rod end tools-two different style of clamps. What I was really interested in was the spreading clamps as I have some jobs coming up that will require these tools. This is my third review of Orion Motor Tech tools, and they have ALL performed flawlessly! ... show more

  • Works good. Well made.
Well made tool. Comes with 2 types of inner tie rod tools. Also has 2 ball joint tools. The compression clamp tightens the more pressure place on it. It uses 1/2 inch drive. The outer tie rod & boot will need to be removed to use it. The bolt on clamp can be used without removing the outer tie rod & boot. It bolts to the inner tie rod the splines bite into the tie rod & makes it easy to use. It uses 3/8 drive. Both inner tie rod tools can be used without removing the steering gear. The ball joint removal tools are heavy steal. I used one on an outer tie rod & it removed it without damage to the boot. The price is good for these tools. The tool truck would cost a lot more than these tools. ... show more

  • Well-made
Sturdy and well-made, these tools are a must for working on front end suspension. Or rear end if you have ball joints to separate. Like any proper tool, they make the job both safer and easier. It's nice that everything comes in a blow molded case to keep the pieces together. This is great because I have European cars and my kids have Hondas, so I can work on either cars. As always, you should lube the threaded portion of the separators to make things smoother. This is a good buy as I have found Orion Motor Tech products to be good quality. ... show more
