I’ve had a few water hose timers, but this one is the easiest to program and operate. It takes 2 ‘AA’ batteries to operate it. The large main dial is well labeled and easy to understand. The fittings were good, and it included a washer and a sediment filter screen. It has a manual setting that you can activate to pause cycles due to rain. It’s not automatic but it is available to use if you want to activate it each time it rains. It can be set to operate several times a day, once a day, every other day, or every 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th or 7th day. It does need to be disconnected and stored inside during freezing weather. I purchased the item last year in May and have had enough time with it to give it a review but product stopped working before warranty period expired. Item was received in a timely manner when purchased. I had no issues with packaging and item was new. Product worked as intend per manufacturer's descriptions. I found the manual mode so helpful especially on hot days. Product included instructions (English and Spanish) for setup but had minimal for troubleshooting although it does provide phone numbers for calling, texting and emailing the company with questions/ issues with product. I found the online website helpful when attempting to solve my timer not working properly. Here is my issue after having the item for 10 months. I started seeing a low battery display icon on the bottom right lower corner and did what anyone would. After replacing with new battery multiple times I decided to contact Orbit and see if they had any solutions for the blinking low battery indicator. They were unable to determine they problem so they sent me a new one since I was still covered under their warranty. After receiving they new timer I decided to open the faulty timer and determine why it would just not work. Upon taking out a few screws and removing a silicone seal, I was able to access the circuit board and saw that at bottom of it it had corroded. A capacitor was completely corroded and seemed to have cause the issue. It appeared moisture had some how leaked into the unit and caused some kind of short. I do remember did find a bit of moisture on the battery compartment right before issue started to occur. I am kinda curious to see if this has happened to anyone else. Overall product worked great, I removed unit from water line any time the weather showed it below freezing and ensured that the inlet filter was always clean. I had no issues getting a replacement since I was under warrant and for now I gave the product 4 stars. After exactly 30 days the unit stopped working. It eats batteries in less than a week and now the screen appears to have water seeping in underneath it making it too hard to read, and the unit stopped with brand new batteries (again) after a few days. HELP??????????????? UPDATE: I called the company and they replaced the item instantly! VERY GOOD customer service! SUGGESTION: If your unit gets water in it, I plan to cover the battery door in silicone. When the batteries go dead, I will just rip off the silicone and replace the batteris. I am so gal customer service was so fast. This is the EASIEST timer to set up for watering!!! ... show more

This has to be the easiest thing I have ever installed. 2 AA batteries and turn the dial and set it up. My only recommendation would be to make it so that you can hang it from something as I wanted to hang it so it wasn't putting pressure on the connection which will eventually wear out. I immediately installed it to the water supply, turned it on. Waited until the timer activated and everything was perfect. Then tested the manual override and very simple. As soon as we have a rain day I will check that as well. I highly recommend this product. ... show more

Bought this to attach to a hose to fill the pool during my extended absence. Main initial worry was control of any potential water pressure leaks (I have had none). Very easy to program the number and duration of flows per seven days. Digital readout is clear to see. You do need to provide your own batteries. Overall a welcomed low cost alternative to buying and installing an expensive pool filling unit fixed to the pool curb. ... show more

I ordered 2, one works perfectly while the other gave me problems. This year won’t turn on. Customer service is hard to get to for warranty replacement. You have to do it through chat online, but it won’t work using my laptop. So using my phone, you go through the same q/a twice and then upload a picture of your receipt. But there’s no send button!!!! Frustrating to say the least. No email address to contact or phone number to speak to someone. Currently “waiting for a callback”. We’ll see how that works out. ... show more
