We've been purchasing the same brand for 10 years. Our prior one lasted 3 years. We bring it inside for the winter and back outside at springtime. It's very simple. You can't program it to run at different intervals. You pick one interval of hours or days and that's it.

The programming interface for this unit is very straightforward and easy to change as the amount of watering you need changes. The first one of these I had (three port) lasted four years of being outside for five months of the year. I hops this one lasts longer.

This is far easier to program than other automatic waterers that I've had. Seems to be holding up well-I'm hoping it lasts for a few seasons and it is on track to do that. Easy to switch between modes and the two different hoses.

You many need to buy a short hose for the main connection because of it’s size. But that is a very minor problem considering that you no long have to water the grass manually!
