    • THE BEST SPRINKLER I HAVE FOUND (BUT NOT PERFECT)

The Orbit is the best lawn and garden sprinkler I have bought (of a half dozen), although not perfect for the reason mentioned below. I was unsure whether to rate the Orbit 4 or 5 stars, but ultimately decided on 5 stars. (On an absolute basis the rating would be a 4, but on a relative basis, since I have not found a better sprinkler, the rating is a 5.) The rotating sprinkler head provides 360 degrees coverage, and distributes the water spray evenly from the center of the circle to the outer perimeter. The ability to raise and lock the sprinkler head to a height of about 3 feet is another positive attribute, allowing more complete watering coverage if short items are within the sprinkle perimeter (such as short bushes). Another significant positive for many households is that the Orbit works very well on low water pressure (especially important for houses with well water). The only negative quality is that the metal rod is unexpectedly soft and bends easier than I would expect. Consequently, after 2 years of use and numerous bendings and straightenings, the rod finally broke in two pieces and cannot be repaired. Nevertheless, I will be purchasing a replacement Orbit sprinkler since I have not found a superior product on the market. ... show more

I've had a couple of these mainly you can't lift them from the top or they tend to break you need to lift from the base right out of the grass you also have to be careful when you push them into the grass that the ground isn't too hard or you can bend the spike. Keep in mind there are two models that I've seen I have one and maybe it's a different brand but it is not a very heavy duty spinner at the top, I don't think it's a brass some other metal that's much lighter but actually ironically the lighter metal is better for me because I have a very low pressure well that pushes water up into my sprinklers and it won't spin the heavier brass fitting but with the lighter metal one it does so if you really have a low pressure situation you may want to get the slightly lower end model. Also I have left these on my hose longterm and had them weld onto the fittings so you may want to use some Teflon tape or something so that this does not weld closed(or simply take them off regularly) I've had to cut my hose and use a repair fitting. Overall though for my low pressure situation this is the best and really only option ... show more

What a disappointment ! I purchased this threw Amazon Prime directly from Orbit. It was in the ground for two days and working amazingly. It really was everything we wanted out of a sprinkler. I went into the house to order 5 more because we loved it so much when my wife called me right back outside to show me it was starting to leak towards the base of it but above the hose attachment. We took it out of the ground to find that it had been previously broken. The tube pulled out at the base and we had a sharp piece of metal with what appears to be Super Glue or glue from a glue gun that was holding it back together. Again this was Factory Direct from Orbit. So happy it broke when it did as I was about to spend another $18.00 a piece for 5 more of them. Now it's time to see how hard the return will be and to hunt down a similar setup as the 2 days it worked it worked exactly as we needed. However after seeing that it was broken at the Orbit Factory and then sent out with a super glue fix from Orbit lets me know to never trust any Orbit product ever again!! ... show more
