Description

The OPTIMA Chargers Digital 1200 Battery Charger enhances the performance of 12V AGM and flooded OPTIMA batteries as well as other high-performance AGM batteries, recovers deeply discharged batteries and helps extend battery life. With an easy-to-read, bright, backlit LCD gauge that displays battery charging, fill rate, mode settings and fault messages, this charger offers one of the best user interfaces. This is an excellent charger! Works great on my yellow top, my secondary standard battery, my mower, and soon I bet it'll see the Harley battery. I'm charging all of them with this now. Real simple to use. Connect the battery, plug it into the wall and push a button or two. It tells you the battery life after a 5 mins evaluation, then starts charging and tells you what amp and voltage it is at. I'm super impressed. I bought this to have a nice charger around, and the guys at Optima charged a battery for me at a car show years ago with this same charger. I got one of these because my neighbor let me borrow his. One of my cars had the battery completely die on it. The battery was about 5 years old so it is what I would consider near the end of it's life AND i don't drive the car a lot. I pulled the battery out and put it on this charger. It took ~12 hours for it to fully charge and go to maintenance mode. The battery has worked like an absolute champ ever since. The cost of this is slightly prohibitive/steep. But compared to the $40 ones you find at the part store... it does a lot more and performs WAY better. So it certainly lives up to the price. ... show more

This machine is very nice. Not only does it recharge the battery but it will repair it!. I have had several batteries sitting around that have not been used in ages and this machine repaired and recharged them. The display is nice and clean. It's very easy to use and I love the fact that it actually checks the battery before it does anything. No more batteries going back just to find out all it needed was a good recharge to fix it! The backlit display is great as it allows you to see the controls easily and the LCD tells the user precisely what the charger is doing and the progress of the charge/repair. ... show more

    • The perfect car battery charger

I've used several different battery chargers with my Optima Yellow Top battery over the last few years. And they've all seriously disappointed me. One will quit charging randomly before the battery is fully charged. Another doesn't switch to trickle charging when the battery is charged, leading to possible over-charging of the battery. I'd rather not have to babysit a battery while it is charging, thank you very much. This charger doesn't have those problems. You just hook it up, select the mode you want, and walk away. It regulates voltage and current properly to both charge the Optima (or other) batteries as quickly as possible, while doing so safely. My only complaint with it is that the cable compartment at the back is just barely big enough to hold the charging cables. So it takes a while to properly fold the cable to get it to fit. Even if it was just a little bit bigger storing the cable would be quite a bit easier. But other than that, it's a fantastic charger. Now, if only the price weren't quite so high... ... show more

This is what you need to maintain your Optima batteries and keep them going for years to come! I recharge mine about every 10 months and it’s been working great for years! Highly recommend this for anyone who wants to bring an Optima back to life or just maintain yours. For Optima batteries mainly but will charge any battery I think? This is a fantastic charger / conditioner/ rehabilitatior! I had another brand battery maintainer $65 model that I thought was maintaining my optima blue marine battery. It supplied volts but not enough amps to keep my Seadoo boat running properly. The boat is highly electronic and at first use in the season would miss and run horribly and the electronics weren't reading correctly. The battery was only a few years old so I knew it should be good. I ordered this charger from Amazon (and got it faster than if I'd have ordered it from Optima directly). I put this optima charger on the battery and ran a pre-charge test. It came back as 75% charged but nearly no amps. This digital charger varies its charging cycle based on the type and size battery you have, from motorcycle to boat, lead, AGM it will test and charge / de sulfate and maintain them all. I was able to restore three other lead deep cycle batteries that I thought were junk. It's not a starting booster but it's one heck of a fantastic charger. Well worth the money. I had to buy a second one due my gf accidently running over the first one. But the charger works as advertised and recovered my old sears die hard when my other charger would not. it got me 2 more years of the battery and the battery has been winched on and I have a ARB fridge. I recommend this charger. it I did not want the charger faster, I would have ordered directly from Optima with a new batter to get an year of warranty on the battery. ... show more

This charger is working well. I like the digital readout and options available like AGM, deep cycle, maintain, etc. You do have to “select” what you are trying to do but it’s a single button push in most cases. Being able to ask it the state of the battery is useful. I have a 40 year old charger that still works but bought this for a new location, I’m glad I did. I may get another and put my old one on the shelf as an emergency backup, that’s how much I like it. ... show more
