I’ve owned several infrared thermometers over the years. I decided to pick up a new one because even though I use mine all the time, my kids use it even more and it tends to disappear. Now we can each have one. If you’re new to using these, you may, like me, start using it for cooking, and it works extremely well for this. But soon come up with tons of other uses for them. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to realize that you can actually use one of these instead of touching something to see how hot it is. Shocker, I know! This unit is just as good as any that I’ve used in the past and is more convenient in some ways. The readouts are fast and accurate. The design is intuitive and easy to use. It’s smaller than most of the other infrared thermometers that I’ve used, but the display is still bright and very easy to read. If taking up space is a concern, this unit would be preferable to other larger sized thermometers. It also comes with a nice carrying case which aids in portability. Update: after several weeks of use, I'm happy to say that this unit has made it's way into my BBQ bag that I use each time I cook outdoors. It's so handy for quickly checking temps. The size and portability have made it the perfect addition to my BBQ bag and I foresee it getting tons of use in the future.

This LED screen backlit-thermometer has a clean and bright laser dot that shows the User exactly where the reading is taking place. This infared thermometer works well and is extremely accurate in temperature when I compare it with a traditional calibrated thermometer. The only negative thing I have to say about it is that it doesn't feel too rugged. Time will tell and I will update after a few months of continued use.

I got the infrared so I could test the temperature on my flat top griddle. So far so good, works as described. Quickly picks up the temperature. I compared it with some thermometer probes and they are all in line with each other. I don't know how I was cooking in my griddle before this.

I have tested this to othemuch more expensive temperature check. Wanted this one to keep with the flat top and now they outdoor cooking is going to be happening more often I can add some video reviews of using this. So far seems very accurate and simple to use with a good case to keep it protected
