This tool is much easier to use compared to the ones that require pressing down or hammering. I was sweating while using press down tool, so I decided to give this one a try. It turned out to be the best bang for the buck, and I didn’t have to break a sweat. Highly recommended if you’re working on valve springs outside the car.

The media could not be loaded. Working on a 1969 Triumph T120 motorcycle head, my 50-year old clamping valve spring compressor did not fit---the valve springs were just too close to the rocker box for it to work. I ordered this to do the work, and struggled using it first time. After I discovered why I was struggling with it (in my opinion a fundamental design flaw), I used a simple 12MM Rivnut to solve the issue. With that simple addition, it worked flawlessly. I gave it 4 stars, because I could make it work very easily. Otherwise it would have gotten 3 stars. With the hack, it's 5 stars. Maybe they should ship it with a Rivnut in the box.

I got this set for replacing some bent valves on a 2009 Subaru Forester. Not the most user friendly tool but I got it figured out and managed to get all the valves replaced without any mishaps. There’s definitely more efficient tools out there but for the price this is fine for the occasional mechanic.
