I particularly like the core release because it means you no longer have to try to squeeze the core out of the corer or push it out. I was hesitant after reading some of the reviews, but for the low cost figured it was worth the risk. Glad I bought it. I eat apples every day and this cores the apples very well. Goes all the way through without a lot of effort. the core was easy to remove from the corer and cleanup was a quick rinse and toss in the dishwasher. It arrived in good shape and functions as described. I recommend.

Well built. Sturdy. Sharp 'blades' on the end, goes through the apple really easily. Only con, is it works great on small/medium sized apples, for larger apples you still might have to clean out some of the core. No biggie.

Easy to use gadget. It's so pretty to arrange perfect apple circles on cakes, especially those where you array the slices on the bottom of a pan and then invert after baking. Also great for pies. And charming for children who like to put the apple circles on their fingers like fancy edible rings. Or who are charmed when you arrange the apple slices on a plate and put peanut butter, nuts, raisins, or pieces of cheese in the holes. Makes snacks especially playful (and nutritious).
