We have several Subaru's in our family. I needed the control arm prying tool so when searching for one I came across this. For just a few dollars more I get both tools, so I'll have the ball joint tool when I need it. While I haven't used the ball joint removal tool yet, it appears to be well made and should hold up for several uses. Appears to be made from high quality metal. I like the integrated design but I wish the piece that attaches to the ball joint comes out but the design is workable. The lower control arm hook is useful when working alone.

Honestly the best thing your getting out of this kit is the control arm pry down tool. In typical hit or miss OMT fashion the ball joint remover does not work exactly as there instructions tell you too which is to remove the threading part from the cup thread onto the ball joint stud and then put the cup back into this, problem is the anti turn pin doesn't fit right to allow this to be removed. A simple fix to this issue would have been to machine an allen hex into the bottom of the bolt part or even weld a small 1/4 nut to allow you to use a tool to thread the whole thing up and on. Sometimes they win gold on what they make sometimes they miss the mark. The whole thing will work.... Just not great. Either way it beats the alternative of trying to do this without something like this. ... show more

I used one of these to help my brother do his subi. Once I saw how well it worked I had to have one of my own! This is heavy duty and well made! The instructions are ok. Pictures would help for those that haven’t used one before but it’s a simple enough design most will be able to figure it out. The lower control are prying tool is a nice addition. Great tool to have on hand! ... show more

Got incase we need it someday but fortunately haven’t needed it yet. Seems durable enough to pull ball joint out easily enough. Seems well made but I haven’t needed to use it yet.

The media could not be loaded. I'm very happy with this ball joint tool and control arm prying hook. It's made from high-quality steel and appears to be hardened. The barrel nut in it easily threads right onto the ball joint and then you tighten it up using a wrench or socket and it breaks the taper hold loose. The steel prying hook makes easy work of things as you can just hook it over a control arm giving you instant leverage to pry against anything. I love it and it makes life easy.
