Works well no issues it is loud enough for the child to hear definitely the bottom part is waterproof used it at the beach and had no issues with it and it is also very simple to understand and read the screen even for my 4-year-old. I actually got my 9-year-old a more expensive one with headphones thinking it would be a better one and he sometimes prefers to use this one that was meant for my 4-year-old because it is easy to hear as far as pitch and tone it is higher than his so it is easier to hear when it detects metal so it definitely can be for a toddler up to an older kid.

Another item for our beach vacation and I am so glad I grabbed these,-the kids haven't put them down since they arrived yesterday! I'm also glad I ordered two- because the 2 kids "haven't put them down since they arrived yesterday" and the fussing would definitely have ruined the vacation 😉 Nobody was finding much in the sand (Not the fault of these little metal detectors, just not a lot of metal where they were looking I guess .) so Grandma came back to the house and tossed some coins and nails and bottle caps and the like around the yard in the bushes. After dinner the boys hit the backyard and the beeping didn't stop for almost 2 hours- I think they found everything I hid, but my memory's not so great so there could be a few stragglers still out there- but not because the kids weren't trying. I just plugged them back in tonight and they were both still at about 30% battery, and they have truly been used for at least 4 or 5 hours since I charged them yesterday, fresh out of the box. These are lightweight and easy to carry but don't kid yourself- these little things work! I grew up using metal detectors with my dad and I honestly wasn't expecting much from a "toy", but I don't think these are going to be sitting unused much the next two weeks. If I can get the kids to put them down long enough, I might go out and see what I can find- I've forgotten how much fun these are.

Cute little metal detector, great for kids. My child is 7. We took it to the beach and it was easy to assemble and disassemble into its 3 pieces for easy travel. I haven’t needed to charge it until after the trip so the battery is pretty good. Definitely easy for kids to understand.

This child's metal detector is great! I gave it to my seven year old grandson and he loves it. It is simple to put together. The handle can be adjusted to different heights. The screen is easy to understand. Before I gave it to my grandson I put coins and little trinkets in the grass out in the yard. I actually told my grandson I did this and he went off on a hunt. He loved it and this little machine found them all. He also took it to the beach with his father and found coins there. I love that it is rechargeable as no batteries are needed. I recommend this metal detector as it came quickly, was in perfect condition and works great. It has made my grandson very happy!
