    • We Shall See
I purchased the original in early April and kept it for a little while for a birthday present to myself in late April. I didn't open it until May 16th. Put it together and it worked as I threw money on the ground which was only a quarter, dime, and a penny. When I moved it over the quarter, it registered it as 25 cent or 50 cent no differentiation. I went over the penny, and it registered it as one cent or 5 cent, over the dime, it registered money and a screw and something else. Don't go over anything fast and have it close to the ground. One issue, there was no sound at all. I had everything that is supposed to come with it but there was no sound. Looked back at the video and saw where the guy that was showing it had sound with his and when he went over money. So it was past time to return it to Amazon for money back which isn't what I wanted but I wanted to replace it for one that works. I contacted Amazon and they were amazing with helping me to send a post to the company to explain what happened and told me that it would take them 2 business days to get back with me. BS. Ommo the company hit be back in 1/2 hour. They apologized for my inconvenience sent me out a new one after they got my address and told me to keep the defective one. Who does that? So it came 2 days ago but I haven't opened the new one since I had to have a minor surgery so I can't say if it works but OMMO was the schiznit for getting back with me like that. Update on 7-7-21: OMMO went beyond satisfying my purchasing experience with this product and trying to satisfy me beyond any other company that is stand alone from Amazon. I appreciate you guys and please buy from them. If you have any issues with a product, hands down you will definitely be helped by them period. ... show more

I got this metal detector for Christmas from my husband and I finally used it for the first time this past weekend. My son joined me and we both had a lot of fun for our first experience. The accuracy seems difficult to get the hang of. The depth is questionable but I am still learning. Overall I am very happy with this product and I look forward to many adventures in discovering treasures with this metal detector. I also want to add that my purpose is purely for fun. I am not expecting to become rich or anything like that. I just like to try new things and thanks to my husband for listening to my little hints for the past couple years, I am now able to explore this new hobby. For those that want to know my findings on my first experience...i found an old pole, a very old Budweiser can and some staples. Not exciting for most but for me and my son it was so much fun. ... show more

I’ve had the metal detector for a few weeks now and had planned on doing a video review but I haven’t been able to get the time to do it. I however have used it several times. Does it work? Yes. Does it work well? I’m not sure to be honest. Everything I have found has been scrap metal and/or things I can not identify. Is it easy to put together? It’s fairly easy to put together even though the instructions are not the greatest. Is it easy to use? Again, the instructions are not the greatest I have no idea if I’m using it correctly but I am finding stuff. Is this metal detector worth the money? If your new to metal detecting I’d say yes most definitely worth the money. You can get it and if you like the hobby you can get a more expensive model down the line. ... show more

    • Great for beginners
10 year old son asked for a metal detector for Christmas, after some online research, we decided on this one. Instructions for assembly we're easy enough to follow (pretty common sense). It is best if you read the manual before you start using it however. It'd beep and boop just like you'd think a metal detector would, however we didn't know what the sounds and the little icons meant until we read the manual. Once we did that, things made a lot more sense. So far, 3 rusty nails, a couple of bottle caps and most of the yard sprinklers have been found! We're having a good time with it. It'll be more fun this spring when we can take it with us camping. ... show more

    • Pleasantly surprised!
I bought this Ommo underground metal detector for my boyfriend’s birthday. He quickly thumbed through the instructions, put it together, and went outside to play. Just a short time later, he came back in the house excited to show me an old tarnished quarter that he had detected about 12 inches down in the dirt! He figured it would take a while to learn how to use it, but it proven to be very user-friendly. The next day, we took it to the beach, which proved to be more difficult. The metal detector was able to detect some items, but digging into the wet sand is no easy feat. If you’ve ever tried to dig a hole on the beach, you know what I mean about how the sand and water keeps filling up and ruining your efforts. Knowing the accuracy he’s found so far, he was excited to scour YouTube for videos that may share tips on how to dig up treasures on the beach.     • to attach handle, first elongate lower portion
Got a great Amazon price on this metal detector. WARNING: What the video does not tell you and the directions do not mention is that the two part handle must elongate the lower handle portion by at least one detent button before you can join the two pieces. After that the handle can be connected without the need for tools NOTE: Ommo telephone customer service does not answer their phone and does not return messages. Their email will respond to inquiries within 48 hours. This is a Chinese Company and apparently you deal with China directly. I would change the Chinese batteries as soon as possible for Duracell but the unit assembles without need for tools. Package has a little shovel, a travel case and with proper care should operate for a long time if cared for properly ... show more
