Excellent Product. While I like to give reviews, sometimes I find them unfair or misleading. Often it's thought that if you spend a certain amount of money the product should be perfect and have NO issues. Remember that the next time you spend $30,000 or more for a new car that you need to keep taking in for repairs. Farmers have always been innovators and know that sometimes you must think ahead or plan for issues that may arise. That's the case for me with this feeder. Every part appears well made except it is metal to metal contact, and used outside. For me, my thought was sealing it from water to prevent mold. I bought a copuple tubes of squeeze tube clear calk and calked everywhere that I had metal to metal contact.I also applied caulk on the handle before bolting it on the lid. I have no moisture issues. Yes, I have waste and yes I have mice who get in the feeders at night, but this is a farm and some things are expected. It's a fine product but I wouldn't mind if it was a tad bit less expensive. ... show more

Chickens are too stupid to stick their head in the hole to eat. Have to scoop it to the edge of the box openings for them to see it. Thin metal but holds two bags of feed. The openings are deep so the chickens don’t like sticking their heads in that far. They get hungry enough they’ll eventually eat but they don’t like it. If I knew this I’d buy the type with a feed tray that autofills. 4 star because of the material being so thin and lid does not keep out all water. Glad I left it empty outside first as I found water in the bottom after a rain storm. I had to make sure zero rain fell on this. Kind of defeats the purpose so now I have it under my coop and at 100 lbs full, hard to move back under the coop after filling. It’s not a bad feeder, just doesn’t work great in my application and you’ll have to raise your baby chicks on this feeder, older chickens don’t catch on how this works…..needs to be a heavier gauge steel in my opinion, and seal better then I’d say 5 stars. ... show more

Great value for the money. Once it is assembled it is pretty sturdy and features so many eating ports that the bullying seems to be non-existent. I bought two and the first assembly was trial and error but by the second one it was assembly line easy. Two sets of hands will definitely make life easier during assembly. I read some reviews saying it was difficult to assemble but I had no issues at all. Just follow the simple instructions and it’s pretty simple. Seems stable even when filled with feed. This is a huge feeder and really like all the openings around the bottom. It's very sturdy but one of the latches was not installed correctly so we can only latch one side of the lid. We didn't notice until my husband put it together so didn't return it.
