camera works as it says it should easy set up the only things that is super important is the camera itself does not have a good batteries you will have to have a battery pack to attach to keep it running and i do suggest getting a micro sd card if you plan on using it for surveillance.. it also comes with a magnetic mounting post which is helpful i actually ended up putting double sides maximum strength sticky tape to attach to somewhere where it could be hidden bc i really struggled with the 2 sides tape that already came attached the picture quality is great for what it is and the night vision is even visible … the camera size is nice and small just as pictured

As far as setup, this was fairly easy to download the app and set up the camera on my router. After setting it up, I switched my phone's wifi off to test the remote viewing capability. This does not "stream" at all. It takes about 15 seconds for it to connect to the camera and refresh the view, and then it gives you a still frame and repeats the refresh process. So if you were hoping to watch live video, this ain't it. So far I have been unable to get true live feed unless connected directly to the camera on the same wifi network. The alert system works while remote viewing... for a bit. For unknown reasons, after leaving my apartment (i.e. lack of motion) the camera seems to shut off and disconnect from my router and I lose connection. The app will "try to connect" to the camera but no luck. I have not tried using an SD card for local storage as my only concern was remote viewing. Edit: the device going offline is only while on battery power. While plugged in, it stays online fine. But having power cords sorta defeats the idea of a hidden camera.

Thos camera will not direct link to tour phone device. You need an open local network for it to work. I wanted a camera I could attach to a magnet and use to see engine components under a truck while in the cab.. I cannot do this without a local wifi connection..

I bought this with a specific purpose in mind, remote monitoring of the status panel of our Freeze Dryer. The size of the camera is perfect for the intended use and the picture quality is more than adequate. I tested the night vision feature and found it to be adequate, though not the best (to be expected with a camera in this price range). Joining it to my wireless network was straight forward using the iPhone app that I installed to interface with the camera. It does nag you to set a password for the camera via WiFi which is a good thing from a security point of view. Overall the camera is functioning perfectly for the purpose that I intended it for.

I didn't expect much when ordering this but it's worse than I expected. The size is larger than they try to make it look, it's not tiny. The picture quality is pretty poor, maybe 720? And that's on the high side. The build quality seems ok though, I think it will hold up. But that's if you can use it, the app is absolutely terrible. While trying to configure the camera for the initial setup, it crashed seven times! I got a noticed it crashed before I even tried to open it after installing the app! I am running the current android os and the app is the most recent release. Now that it's set up, the app is a little more stable but still crashes and freezes. If you could use this with a different app it would be a good little camera for cheap. The night vision works fine and as expected. The biggest flaw of this camera is the app, someone needs to go through it and debug it because it's extremely buggy. I definitely wouldn't recommend this as a cheap camera, I'd find one that has a different app.

First, I'm a tech guy. I can build, operate and repair various electronic devices. This device has issues staying connected even when the AP is 15 feet away. I inserted a 64Gb SD card but the camera didn't recognize it. I followed various steps to verify the SD cards functionality which proved the SD card itself is operational. The issue lies with the poor quality of this camera. You'll be better off buying something that might cost more. UPDATE: Camera has ruined two 64Gb MicroSD cards. Each time I inserted the card, it prompted me to Format. I clicked Format. A hour or so later, it just says there is not SD card inserted.
