I love my lil ice maker. It doesn’t take up much counter room, it’s quick and efficient and living in a hot state and not having a built in ice maker and limited freezer space for bags of ice, this is what I was looking for! My only gripe with it is that you gotta constantly check on the ice, because if the ice is touching the rim of the maker, usu meaning the basket is full, it’ll stop making the ice until you clear it out and with the basket being small… it doesn’t take long to fill up! This works well and makes a lot of ice as long as you are there to empty out the reservoir when full. The ice storage area is not insulated so the ice does sweat, a problem when wanting to make a lot of ice to store in the freezer for an upcoming party (ice sticks together like rocks requiring busting apart). Worst part is cleaning in and around the "fingers" that freeze the ice. Not easily seen but gets very dirty so I use a Waterpik to blast water in the freezer chamber which works like a charm. ... show more

Directions poor in water. Turn on machine. Enjoy ice. If thats to hard. Don't buy. I have been using this for a few months every three or four days. I make 10 to 15 pounds at a time. Been working great. Few tips when you start the ice maker it takes about 45 min to start making full size ice. It takes me about 10 hours to make that amount. Just set it and dump the ice bucket once an hour. There's a drain plug to drain out the water after use. Only issue I did have was there was a nut loose in the machine. from what I can tell its off the compressor mount but there's three others holding the compressor to the housing unit. Hasn't caused any issue. This machine has paid for it's self already. ... show more

Does what it's supposed to do, seems robust. A little louder than the brand name unit it replaced, but the brand-name machine failed. Not bad looking, but the big logo is a little blingy in the same way that the logos on pickup truck tailgates are nowadays. The only annoyance: ice reliably gets jammed up well before the basket fills. Typically, only one or two cubes stuck on the movable shelf stop the machine from making more ice until you knock them into the basket by hand. I think they freeze to the cubes stacked up below them and the up-and-down action of the shelf is not aggressive enough to break them free. This can be an issue if you need a lot of ice quickly, or if it happens when a lot of the ice in the basket has melted - the machine is effectively on 'pause' until the jam is cleared, even if the basket is mostly empty. I am going to experiment and see if I can make a basket that is deeper in the middle and the back to help prevent this. But that will stick down into the water reservoir more, so fill capacity will go down and the bottom of the basket will flood with reservoir water or melted ice. It would be best if the shelf cycled more times or aggressively enough to get the cubes where they need to go in the first place. Summary: for the money, not bad. The brand name unit this replaced had sticking problems too. I think it's a good value. Would be exceptional if the jamming issue did not exist. ... show more

It makes “the good ice”. Use bottled water for best flavor. Of note is the design of the ice maker leaves the ice wet so they stick together in the freezer. Water also drips from the basket when you remove it. Otherwise it’s very handy and efficient.
