I bought a set 2 years ago, loved them, and wanted to have a second set to double up. But the bands I got this time are not the same quality. They do not have the same tension and they look shinier. It’s possible that they need to be broken in but I did not recall that being the case with my first pair.

I changed the rating to four out of five because the bands are so sturdy and I foresee them lasting longer than my resistance tubing did. I also like the high resistance of the green band. However, I did have some problems and I do not care to use this for pullups. Many athletes like to use these with barbells and dumbells and without a matched set many such exercises cannot be done. I guess the company wants people to use them for pullups but I want them for the barbell and dumbell exercises. That bore repeating because these band producers apparently want to stress the assisted pullup function so that they do not have to provide matched pairs for squats, etc. There were various other problems listed below that caused me to give them a 4 out of 5 rating. The Positive: -the bands seem very sturdy and long lasting -the big bands have a lot of resistance The Negative: -the bands and package stink to high heaven of rotten eggs when you first open it and the smell lasts, only gradually decreasing -two sets of bands are required if one wishes to do a lot of resistance band-augmented exercises with barbells & dumbells (ie. olympic style bars), only a few work with just one band of each amount of resistance (problematic: squats, shoulder press, upright row, etc., ok: bent row, dead lift, stiff leg dead lift, and other low-height exercises) -if you are not going to use these largely as pullup straps, they are not worth the price -they give the address for a website with exercises but when I went there I got warnings of malware attacks at the website and had to flee, so to speak -the recommended squat exercise tends to put pressure on the side of my neck, I'd rather have a matched set of bands to use a bar -Caribiners with wider ends would be better for attaching the handles, also, these caribiners tend to scrape or scratch the bands, it could shorten the life of the bands, apparently Recommendations: -these companies should sell matched pairs so that their customers can use them with barbells and dumbbells (this buyer's main reason for buying them) -if you are looking for a resistance band workout and pullup assists are not important to you, I do not recommend these items for you -be ready to buy two sets if you intend to use them with barbells and dumbbells and want to have a reasonable variety of exercises available

I like them so much this is the second set I bought! The only issue I have is that the door stoppers are not the same length. the second set door stopper is about 1" longer than the one that came with the first set. While that does not seem like much, there is a very noticeable difference in the tension when using both stops with bands at the same time.

I purchased these in 2017. I don't use them on a regular basis. In fact the last time I used them was a few months ago. They have been very reliable and still have their resistance. I'm not sure if its the full resistance they had when I purchased them but it has to be pretty close. I pulled them out of the bag again today and was shocked to see how disgusting they looked. As you can see in the images, the black band has an orange powder residue all over it than comes off on the hands. I don't know what this is. The other bands are also showing signs of the powder residue but it's white. They don't seem to be effected in quality by this. Doing a google search and it states it's called bloom and manufacturers add it to the rubber to help prevent the rubber from dry rot. My only guess it that these will start to dry out if that's the case. But, nearly 4 years old is pretty good if you ask me.

Came well packaged, high quality...rubber? I guess it's rubber. My biggest complaint is that the carabiners that clip the handles onto the straps are a bit small, I worry about scoring the rubber and creating weak spots. The over the door thing is not the best quality I've seen, I think it will not last too long. The book that's advertised does not come with the equipment, and there are no directions for getting it. I ended up googling, going to their site and downloading it, which I could have done without the purchase. It's of debatable use if you don't have a hip-height railing available that's equal to the load. Not the manufacturer's fault, but for future purchases, I would want to add a bar with a single attachment point that was big enough for two hands. The documentation says these are only good for 6 months, which probably means they're limiting their liability to that time period, but that's a lot of repurchasing.
