Placed over the fireplace mantle on the wall, it is beautiful and the right size. My one complaint is that the night lighting in the clock doesn’t look anything like it is pictured on-line.

I was on the fence about a light up clock only because I didn't think I needed it. I did need to replace a kitchen clock that finally died. When I saw this it had big numbers and I wanted to see it from across the kitchen. I've had it a week and I love it! The clock takes 1 AA battery and the light takes 4 AA. I have it on full brightness so I'm not sure yet how long the batteries will last but I think it will be worth it. ... show more

Overall I'm very happy with this wall clock. The design is classic and attractive and the numbers are easy enough to read, even at a distance. I like the light-up feature minus one detail. The ambient light comes from three lamps on the periphery of the face (it can be seen in the listing photos). To me this detracts a bit from the aesthetics and gives it a somewhat cheap appearance. I would have preferred a continual ring of lights or some sort of backlighting. I'm sure either of those options would have added to the cost, so I understand why they went with the design they did. ... show more
