*Android App Bug Workaround” My app sensor pairing “Next” button was not clickable the first time. After I shutdown and restarted the app, I clicked “Resume Setup” and the “Next” button is clickable this time. *Hardware Setup Bug Workaround” My sensor pairing was timing out and not successful. I took a seat, tried again, and it worked immediately. Turns out it was failing when I stood behind the camera. Once I move to the front of the camera to sit down, the sensor pairing works immediately. ************************************************** I consider myself Smart Home savvy with Google Home, Alexa, Nest, and Kasa products installed in my home. I value my privacy and pay attention to what they do with my video and data. Smart garage has been on my radar for a few years but nothing seems right. Garage motor vendors trying to do software worries me. Chamberlain MyQ monopoly with Amazon Key gives me the wrong vibes. Besides, none of the garage cameras look right in the garage. Enter Ampoza. It was specifically designed to install under/on/top of the garage motor. ampoza.com/ shows that they are a California company with standard U.S. privacy, legal, and terms of use. Most important of all, the videos are stored locally on our SD card. NO video in the cloud and NO monthly fees! ************************************************** Despite the two bugs I ran into during setup, I am pleasantly surprised with this product. 1. The packaging is easy to open, nicely laid out, easy to flatten, and all paper recyclable. 2. Camera is surprisingly small. Fits well under the garage motor magnetically. No screws! 3. The mount is genius and I haven’t seen a product like this. You can easily swivel horizontally 360 degrees and vertically 110 degrees(? Pure eyeballing it) 4. Android app was intuitively easy to use (except the one setup bug I ran into). Lots of help text and humorous text such as “It’s quiet. Too quiet.” 5. Slide to open/close garage with confirmation is a nice touch. I don’t need to worry if I ever “pocket open” my garage 6. Unexpected, but when closing, the camera would flash light and beep sound for 5 seconds then start closing. I recognized the safety significance as soon as I saw it, especially with a wife, two kids, and a dog at home. 7. The app and camera have worked reliably for the past week. It does what it is supposed to. If I were to nitpick, it sometimes takes 4 to 8 seconds to connect. 8. A few interesting settings such as schedule close are hidden under camera setting. I purchased this item in summer of 2024. It was easy to install and worked well for several months. However, the app needed to use the camera is no longer functioning. I haven't been able to login in weeks and receive an error message each time. I was going to uninstall and reinstall to see if that fixed the problem, but the app no longer appears in the Google Play store. I have reached out to the company twice without response. A support website I located for this product indicates the service is down. My guess is that this product is no longer being supported. DO NOT BUY!     • It is super hard to pair with the garage motor.
The camera works well and the app is easy to navigate but I tried to pair it with three different garage motors and it did not work. I spoke to the representatives twice and the problem was not fixed. I am giving up on this.

An interesting integrated and compact camera that carries both MyQ alike and IP camera functions. I love that its wireless door sensor reports real-time door status without wiring or integrating into existing garage systems. I ever used a cheaper security solution that just sticked one or a few special printed QR codes on the garage door and let the camera detect that code in order to judge if the door is closed or opened. No advantages other than being cheap, paper dropped frequently (unless double-sided tape was replaced with very strong glue), and the dark IR environment brought a lot of noise to the image processing so that the effect was poor. This camera is perfect for my LiftMaster, setup is extremely easy, no need to learn any manual or search online, the app works just great, door open/close as expected, the CVR from SD card can be viewed based on the timeline. I noticed two very meaningful features, one is a defined schedule that forces the garage door to close; the other is an alarm icon that sounds the siren (to scare off intruders) while you are monitoring the garage. Overall, it’s a good product, well designed for the garage use. One thing to mention, my LiftMaster door opener has an antenna cable hanging off the back, and I figured out that the camera needs to be mounted away from that cable to avoid interference, nothing to complain, that’s the true life. ... show more

Camera was easy to install. Worked about 1/2 day and then dropped signal connection repeatedly. WiFi router is less than 20 feet away.

    • Works for a while, then intermittent, then stops
I liked the easy of setting it up the first time. Then, after some time the stream and connection was intermittent. Then only every once in a while it would connect. I tried resetting a couple times. Everytime it would start great and then become inconsistent. Then, it stopped connecting and wouldn't complete a reset. Support was great and sent me a new unit at no charge. The second unit did the same thing. I wish I could get behind the brand with this great idea of a product, but these units are useless to me now and going in the trash. ... show more

This thing is junk! The sensor does not work! It is impossible to set up! No help from company at all, they keep emailing me, with at least a week between responses! With the same things, try this, take the protective tab off the battery! Well like Duh!
