I just received my OBD Resources OBD II scanner. After receiving the unit I downloaded there app and put it to use. The unit is android and IOS compatible although I have a android phone. The device is very compact but surprisingly diverse with the software app. Fowlering their directions the device was easy to pair to my phone. After checking several features on a couple of vehicles I own i was very impressed with the results. The only limitations I could derive was that of the vehicle manufacturer in allowing the data you could derive from the ECM. The device has a good warranty and offers tech support if needed. The cost is very competitive with others similar devices on the market, sum of which can't delivered the features. Thumbs up to the developers for a very reasonably price device any do it yourself should have in there tool box. ... show more

It is build on original Microchip Pic18F25K80 - which works better than any other alternatives. I tested it on iPhone with CarScanner App with VW.

    • Obd resource enhanced codes scanner is bogus!
So I bought this scanner to check my car when I got it I went to down load the app faslink x and it told me my android phone was too new believe that so I'm stuck with that an app and I can't run the device so on top of that I took the scanner code and when I scan the code it took me to another site and beware if anybody else gets this this site called fraavy.com I thought it was a site for the app and so they wanted me to register and put my credit card in there and they said that they were not going to charge me but it was just to register and it was nothing but a scam that had nothing to do with the scanner so now I'm off to the bank to try to get this off of my account before it hits the whole thing is just been a nightmare for this stupid scanner do not buy absolutely worthless how can they sell a product that's not updated to the equipment that you using it's crazy ... show more

    • The replacement works flawless...
I had one before that I was happy with, but I gave it to my brother and bought a new one for me. I got one with a faulty Bluetooth (showed up, but was unable to connect to anything - I've tried 3 phones and a laptop). It was useless, so I returned it without any problem. Then I got an email from Lizebest, offering a free replacement. It was a surprise since this is a really low priced item, I did not expected to follow up the problems. Long story short, I received the replacement that works fine with Torque (android), just as expected. Even with my Saab, which is a bit picky with devices. Aside the initial failure with a faulty piece it is well worth its price. It can do the same as the more expensive ones. If you have problem with connecting the Bluetooth after pairing, you can try to chose the device from the Torque device menu. Bottom line: very friendly customer service and good product. ... show more

    • Simpler than the instructions suggested
This was simpler to work with than the instructions that came with the device suggested. I just had to plug the device into the car, start the car, and use the phone's interface to connect to the bluetooth (not all the crap provided in the instructions on the CD) and then the OBDII apps worked fine with it. I used it on a 2016 Toyota Prius with a Samsung S6 edge phone and three different app, finally using the Carista application to get rid of the annoying Prius back-up beep! ... show more

I was skeptical that such an inexpensive device could work, but hesitant to pay up to $100 or more for a more full-featured OBD2 scanner, so I figured for $8.99 I was willing to take the chance. The scanner arrived, I downloaded the free version of OBD Car Doctor from the Amazon App Store, plugged in the scanner, and paired with my Galaxy Tab 4. Tried in my 2013 Volvo wagon, my wife's 2006 Volvo SUV, and my son's 2004 Volvo wagon; worked fine in all 3. My son's car has had an intermittent Check Engine light on the dash, which I was able to decipher ("fuel mixture too lean at startup") and clear. As another poster pointed out, avoid using the included CD, as McAfee identified two Trojans on the disk. It's useless anyway. Maybe quality control issues with such a cheap device can explain the bad reviews; for me this is a no-brainer. Just buy it! ... show more

    • Nothing is hidden but you have to do your homework.
Finding where to plug it in was the hard part. The results were too numerous for me to understand but the basics were presented in a clear display. But with a good app ( I didn't go with the one suggested because all the data is shared with China) all will be revealed. Check the apps at the app store and look at how the data is tracked and whether it shares the user ID. ... show more
