Why did you pick this product vs others?: I heard this was the product to purchase when wanting to interface with a Ford vehicle. They were right. I plugged the unit into the OBDII port and hooked to my laptop. Searched on-line for the drivers, downloaded, installed. Fired up the Forscan app and was in business. It was very quick to set up in the program and when connected to the car, it started providing codes quickly and accurately. What more can one ask, it works perfectly and without spending time trying to figure stuff out. If you are in need of an interface from PC to OBDII, I can recommend this one for sure. (Plus it is not more expensive than one of the cheap ODBII scanners that read only engine codes.) I ... show more

Been using this for AlphaOBD on my laptop. Works great! I keep it in my truck and use it somewhat often. No issues and it feels pretty quality. Way faster then any bluetooth equivalent. If you really use certain automotive programs regularly then I'd 100% recommend this over the bluetooth ones plus it's a better value and way more versatile! ... show more

I am a professional automotive technician with 24 years of experience. I specialize in diagnostics. This item works great! I purchased this to use with my Android car stereo to have additional gauges using ForScan. It works well for that. I have never had an issue with battery drain over 4 years of use. The vehicle it's installed in gets used infrequently too, so the battery saver feature definitely works. I love having real time live data on the dash, from all modules. The first unit I ordered never arrived. Amazon took care of that. The one that did arrive worked great. I installed it under my dash with an OBD2 splitter cable, then plugged the USB into the stereo. For the last several months, connection has been spotty. If eventually stopped connecting altogether. I finally pulled it out today to see if this interface or the stereo were the culprit. The power light stays off on the OBDLink, even after disconnecting and reconnecting it. Sadly ot has died, just outside of the generous 3 year warranty. 4 stars for the death right outside of warranty. However, I'm here buying another. ... show more
