If you own a BMW and plan on using BimmerCode or BimmerLink, this is hands down the adapter to get. Setup took less than a minute, ust plug it in, pair with my phone, and it connected instantly. The connection is solid and way faster than the cheap adapters I’ve tried before. I’ve used it for coding (disabling auto start/stop, tweaking welcome lights, adding digital speed readout) and for diagnostics like clearing fault codes and monitoring live data. It’s quick, reliable, and BimmerCode even makes a backup in case you want to roll back to factory settings. Ok, this works flawlessly for a BMW or MINI. It connects without any issues and is able to work with Biimer Link and Biimer Code flawlessly. The only issue I had with this was that it didn’t work with my Chevy truck. It should have the ability to read ANY ODB2 codes. I ultimately sent it back and bought a Veepeak unit that worked perfectly for my BMW, my MINI, and my Chevy. If you only want to use it for a BMW or MINI then this is this best option. If you need it to work with other cars then you will need something else. ... show more

    • Works as expected
Bought this to do some coding on the wife's BMW 328i. Plugged it in and the BimmerCode app connected without issue. It does take longer than I expected to complete the connection, but it reads all the option codes each time. I also noticed that if left plugged in to the OBD port it seems to cause a battery drain message on the instrument cluster (not sure, we just had a real cold snap the last few days which could have caused the error). Also, DON'T USED THE RECOMMENDED APP THAT COMES WITH IT! It caused the iDrive unit to stop functioning, I shut down the OBDLink App and the iDrive did reset.     • Clear improvement over my previous OBD reader
For years I had a Carly OBD reader and the phone app that went with it. Then one day, I have to update the app - and now it will only work if I sign up for a monthly subscription! Can't go back to the previous version either. Get stuffed. Research among other BMW drivers brought me to this item, and It's a much better choice. First, it communicates with your phone over Bluetooth so it doesn't mess up your Wifi connection like the Carley. Phone app is much better, things just work. There are a couple of features you have to pay extra for - but just ONCE, not every month. ... show more
