The day after I bought this my sons 2019 VW JETTA had a CEL. I plugged in and it brought up the VIN within a few seconds. The code as well as other information came up instantly. It explained exactly what the fault was. It happened to be bank 1 02 sensor and some other helpful info. As with any CEL, I cleared. Sometimes these come on because of a minor mis read of a sensor. If it returns I will change the 02 sensor. So far, no. This is easy to navigate and gives you options of AI or web based information via the touchscreen. Well worth the money vs the 50 dollar code readers. This unit explains what is going on, not just a code. I'm happy I bought this as I do a lot of my own repairs, not to mention having to leave the house to have the dealership or parts store diagnose and waste money. My only complaint is it doesn't come with a case, just the box. If a case were offered I would have purchased so I could keep it safe for transport. Cardboard is okay but not durable over time. One final note. It works on cars I'm not familiar with, saw these during the update. Foreign cars from other countries. Since i have GM and Volkswagen and it worked flawlessly on the VW, I'm convinced it will work on anything I decide to drive. One final note. The screen will look scratched or used. It has a screen protector that's a little difficult to remove. If yours looks like this, try to peel a corner. It's pretty thick and sticks very well.

I was not happy with this right out of the box. The screen looked worn with many scratches. The battery first read 91%, so I plugged it in to charge for an hour. I took it to the car and it then read 86%. I used it for maybe 10 minutes and it was already reading 75%. I have other bi-directional scanners and I have never seen anything like that. I decided to charge it overnight, just to see and it was 100% in the morning. I used it on the car for about 25 minutes and the battery stayed at 100%, so this may have been a result of it running updates when it first gets used. I did say yes to a bunch of software updates when it was first connected to wi-fi. This is very intuitive and I'd say easier to use than the other two $700+ bi-directional scanners I own. This actually found ABS pump warnings that I did not detect on my other scanners. If I run the straight DTS scan it matches the other scans. It was just an additional record in the stability system. I have not seen any warnings, so it was easy to reset with this scanner and I will retest it. I was pretty shocked that this could detect things my other scanners did not. The AI function is interesting. I'd say it may need more work, which I assume will come with time. For my ABS warning, for example, I went through the AI listings and it wanted to give me an image of the ABS system, but it could not load the image. It has good test and descriptions it just looks like that functionality may need some more updates. I do thing this is a good value for the money. At this price you get a very capable scanner. It seems to do everything that other scanners at 3x the price will do, plus some. Those scanners do have wireless ODB2 connectors, which is an even bigger help than I would have thought before using this model. This comes with no case, so I had set the cable aside to charge the unit. When I went to re-test this on my car I could not locate the cable and spent time looking for darn thing. I will get a case for this, which will make it much more functional and help me keep up with the cable. I will follow-up after using this on some more vehicles. I would rate it 5 of 5, but it almost looks like my unit was previously used. This may indicate a quality control issue at the manufacturer.
