  • Good value in a functional OBD2 Scanner
I normally use Forscan for my truck, but thought this would be a good alternative to check codes without a laptop and allow use with my wife's Honda. The scanner could not be simpler to use, plug and play. It had a good firm connection in both vehicles with good cable length. The body of the tool what feels like a rubberized coding giving good grip and easy handling. The interface is fairly intuitive, and the instructions would allow someone not familiar with using scan tools to get up to speed easily. It did not find any active codes. I double checked with Forscan to verify. Forscan did have one history code that would not trigger the MIL so it appears the scanner is not set up to detect inactive history, which is fine for most folks. The tool has a a battery test function so it can save on buying one separately. The live values allow you to verify gauge readouts. All the values where consistent so it appears to have good accuracy. Overall its a good value for $30 with a good amount of functionality. ... show more

  • Handy Little Scanner — Great for Quick Diagnostics
I’ve been using this OBD2 scanner in the garage, and it’s been a solid tool to have around. It plugs right in, boots up fast, and gives you the basics without making you dig through a bunch of menus. I used it to check a CEL on one of my cars, and it pulled the code instantly and cleared it without any issues. The live data is actually pretty useful. Being able to watch RPM, speed, and other readings in real time helps you get a better feel for what’s going on under the hood. The acceleration and braking tests are a neat bonus — not something I use every day, but cool to have when you’re trying to track down performance hiccups. The battery test feature is surprisingly handy. It gives you a quick voltage reading and even shows a waveform so you can see if the battery is starting to get weak. It’s nice not having to drag out a multimeter just to check battery health. The hotkeys make things simple. One button for I/M readiness, one for carbon checks — easy. The interface is straightforward, and since it’s plug‑and‑play, you don’t need to set anything up. Just connect it and go. Compatibility hasn’t been an issue. I’ve tried it on a couple different vehicles and it recognized everything right away. The built‑in test report is a nice touch too — it summarizes the vehicle info and the results so you can keep a record if you’re working on multiple cars. Overall, this is a great little scanner for DIY diagnostics. It’s quick, easy to use, and has more features than the basic code readers without being overly complicated. Perfect for keeping in the toolbox. ... show more

  • Don't purchase, buyer beware!
I thought this would be a good product, went to use it and it will not power up? Tried to use it on several other vehicles and it would not power on them either. Was not allowed to exchange it or get refund, because too much time passed from purchase date? Would not waste the money buying this, since you can buy one locally and return it if it doesn't work. • Easy Plug and Play
I got this to find out what the code was on my Buick Encore. It was easy to use even though I have no prior experience. It was plug and play just as described on the product page which is good for me as a new user. I was able to find out what the code was so I could have an idea of what the cost to repair my car would be instead of taking it to the dealership (like I usually do) which saved me $120 on a diagnostic fee and time without a car. I haven’t had the time to try this on my other vehicle since it doesn’t have power right now. But, I will update this review if I am able to use this tool on it as well. ... show more

  • Plug & Play for many common engine problems
OBD2 Scanner Diagnostic Tool, Code Reader for Check Engine Light with Battery Test, EVAP System(Mode 8), O2 Sensor & I/M Readiness, Automotive Engine Fault Scanner for All OBDII Protocol Cars For the price this is a very functional scanner. This scans for many common problems (but not all). My 2002 Highlander occasionally throws a code. This helps me figure it out without having to go to the auto parts store and have them tell me what the code is. It recently helped me determine my O2 sensor was bad. I replace the O2 and I'm back in business. My car battery seems to have a "slow leak". I keep this plugged in to help me keep track of my battery life. It's easy to use, plug and play. ... show more

  • Useful tool to have around
Very useful tool to have around. This scanner doesn’t have its own battery. It’s powered off the car, so you don’t have to worry about keeping it charged. It’s easy to use. Just plug it in and select what option you want with the key pad on the right. You can read + clear codes, see a live data stream, check your battery and a number of other things like a “performance” test and a fuel test. The o2 sensor test is not compatible with my car. It wasn’t on my old scanner either. Value for the money is good. It has a lot of different functions for the price. ... show more
