Was having some issues with my SUV, I took it to dealership and they wanted to do a $125 diagnostic. When I questioned as if a problem was isolated would they waive the fee if I had the repair done there. I was told know no that the cost of the diagnostic was set. I decided to not to let them do it. I looked around for a user friendly diagnostic tool and found this on Amazon. After I ran the test it gave me the problem, which was a bad battery. I had the battery replaced and problem solved. This scanner works just as well as the ones that'll cost you $200-$300. It actually gives you the codes that'll tell you pretty much exactly where you need to go to fix the problem. The first time I used it was a 2004 Mercury Sable that had the CEL lit up. Plugged it in and it gave me the P codes for both the #1 bank and #2 bank cats operating below threshold. Owner hadn't maintained the vehicle and the O2 sensors were all clogged with carbon. $90 for new O2 sensors was much cheaper than $600 to replace both cats! ... show more

Every now and then when my car throws up a check engine light I have to drive somewhere to read the code but now that I have one of these I will know exactly what's wrong with my car.
