  • 10/10 - GREAT BRACE 10/10 - GREAT BRACE
Size: Regular Style: Without Shoulder Strap
Im very surprised more people dont know about this one! Some background info for consideration: I'm a 30 y/o male. 5'10". 185 lbs. Very active lifestyle with focus in competitive cycling and Soccer. I tore my ACL 2 weeks ago in my right knee. I've torn the one in my left knee 3 times, so I'm well versed in knee-brace game. I did EXTENSIVE research because I got tired of wasting money on crappy braces. A few features about this one caught my eye. I received it today and WOW, I'm impressed. Straight out of the box it feels well crafted & sturdy. Velcro straps are strong. Hinges feel strong. I played with the hinge settings before putting it in and it's very simple to use. I love that you can move the hinges if you need to, via velcro sleeves they're held in. The 'EXT' & 'FLEX' settings allow you to manipulate the range of mobility with ease. The circle push-lock allows you to lock it in place for true knee immobilization. Its fantastic. Once I put it on, I felt it to be comfy and very snug (big thighs from cycling). So someone skinnier may find it to be a perfect fit. I don't mind wrapping extra tight for a tight fit. Once I got it in snug, I set my current range of mobility and gave it a test walk. I can say with confidence it will give amazing stability. I dont feel like jerky or like my knee will give out. My EXT is set at 30 so I have a slight bend at the knee when I walk, which is perfect. So far, I'm very pleased with this brace! I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a brace in the 40-50 dollar range. ... show more

  • Best brace so far I've owned Best brace so far I've owned
Size: X-Large Style: Without Shoulder Strap
I just got this brace today and I can already tell there's a difference which is a better difference than the brace that they sent me home with at the hospital. I like the fact that you can move and adjust the bars on the side to the desired area that you need them in for more support. The fact that the locks the brace in place too when you need to stand up is fantastic and I like how it's extra cushion which I think it's going to be an added benefit especially at night being that I have to wear the brace all evening ... show more

  • Great for the price, but not amazing at preventing knee lockout
Size: Large Style: Without Shoulder Strap
For the price it's hard to argue with. However, I bought the brace to prevent myself absent-mindedly locking out my knee, and this brace does a much better job of preventing knee bending than knee extension. I am able, even with pretty draconian settings, to lock my knee out casually. It also fits pretty snug on me despite following the sizing. I don't mind snug but if this brace *almost* fits you, the velcro will not completely overlap, and will dig into your skin, and it is pretty sharp velcro. ***Pros*** Price - About as good as you could ask for for the price. Locking Knee braces can go for $500+, and many of those aren't as good as this one. Preventing Knee Bending - This is solid for preventing contraction/bending of the knee. Lock is Easy to Use - Pretty obvious how the locks work immediately. Light and foldable - packs up easily, thin enough to wear under clothes. ***Cons*** Not Good at preventing Knee Lockout - I found that even when setting the brace to keep my leg at a near 45 degree angle, I can still stand up straight with only mild discomfort. If you are considering purchasing this to help you prevent yourself from casually locking your knee out, I would suggest getting something more heavy duty. Not Super easy get on "right" by yourself - Personally I found it, not exactly hard, but fairly fiddly to get it back on with correct tightness and positioning, without the velcro digging into me. This is probably the case for any velcro or lace based brace, but it is worth pointing out that you may need to put it on and walk around a bit, then adjust multiple times before you get it just right. ***Mixed*** Runs a bit small - I have basically never needed a large in anything, but I am 5'10", 180 Lbs, with fairly muscular thighs, so I got the Large version here according to the listed instructions. The Brace fit below my knee but only barely fit above my knee, with some adjustment though, it does fit. Velcro Discomfort - If the brace fits you but just barely, or you just put it on hastily, the velcro will not fully overlap with its connection... flap. This will cause part of the very sharp velcro strip to scratch your leg. This could be potentially alleviate by wearing it over some tights or something, but I didn't attempt it. ***Conclusion*** Overall I would say if you need to add some medium support, or prevent/restrict knee bending for a limited period of time, or need locking a brace that is easier to travel with, this is about as good as you can do for the money. ... show more

  • It is worth a try, I think
Size: Large Style: Without Shoulder Strap
Thought this would be perfect for me. But, I just wasn't able to get it set-up like I needed so it was returned. It seems well-made. However, the side dials beat me. They seemed to stick out too far on either side and I never figured out how to set it up. SO, I felt it was best to return. This had many great reviews and videos: I believe it was just me that could not wrap my mind about the set-up. Hope it works for you: and Hope you get better soon... ... show more

  • Not as advertised
Size: XXX-Large Style: Without Shoulder Strap
Be very aware: This needs more than one person to attach to leg initially. Lots of velcro involved. The metal joints are in Velcro pockets attached to the main brace with more Velcro. They Stay some what loose. Getting the left and right side joints aligned impossible. The metal joint on inside of leg can hit opposite knee, causing pain in opposite knee. The range locking tabs not easy to use or adjust while wearing. And if your alone , impossible to put on. And the Fabric which is stretchy ,bunches up when applying to knee . I tried 2 different sizes. It seems this was tested for fit on a straight post. and not a human leg which is tapered. A failed product. ... show more

  • I would recommend
Size: Small Style: Without Shoulder Strap
Tore my meniscus, needed a better brace to wear while healing, it is very comfortable, I did howener buy a cloth knee support to wear under it, I have some meat, lol that hangs out of the back and it was scratching. Other than that I really like it, it keeps my knee steady so I do not tear it more.

  • Nicely made, and highly adjustable
Size: Regular Style: Without Shoulder Strap
I like the fact that the entire hinge "pouch" can be removed as well as the straps. This should improve durability when washed, and because the straps can be positioned where I want, I can stabilize the brace further. When it arrived, the straps were attached near the edges of the brace. This permits the hinge to move outward slightly when kneeling or bending your knee 90 degrees. I found that by moving the straps inward, closer to the patella, it helps prevent this movement in the hinge. The ability to prevent hyperextension, or normal motion beyond my comfort zone is also very helpful to me, and it helps reduce the normal pain and swelling I get from my osteoarthritis by the end of the day. As far as comfort goes, I can wear it all day comfortably. It is as comfortable as any neoprene brace. There are braces with a thinner material that are a bit more comfortable (less hot), but I have not found them outside a medical supply company. ... show more

  • Nice concept, but execution leaves a lot to be desired
Size: Large Style: Without Shoulder Strap
I bought these to help with two knees that have been declared by my orthopaedic surgeon to be "unstable", advising me it was dangerous to walk on our roof or climb a ladder to do normal home maintenance work. So, the straps & click-adjust knee flex limiters on this product seemed to offer a knee stabilizing benefit at less cost than other more exotic braces. I wore them indoors yesterday while I prepped repairs to a room wall and part of the ceiling for repainting after a water leak damaged the drywall months ago.. After five hours involving lots of up & down trips with the fall-prevention step ladder and basement stairs, I had to take these braces off. The problems I experienced ... * the upper strap had sawn into the back of my right knee early on, and I had to stepped down, dropped my pants, and rearrange the straps and padding at least six times try to stop this problem with only partial success * the combination of the upper and lower straps does provide a snug fit, but there is nothing about this design that prevents the brace from sliding down a leg if you climb or descend a stepladder or stairs; the strap arrangements also does not prevent the brace from rotating across the kneecap and interfering with movement; * the adjustable leg bend arc limits seem great, but wearing a heavy pair of jeans and going up and down a stepladder revealed that the limiter mechanism can be reset by your pants as you bend your knees, and does so frequently. Every time I tried to reset the straps, i also found the limiters (all four of them on two braces) had changed settings (once so much so that I nearly lost my footing coming down the ladder because the brace had locked up my knee, making it unable to straighten out); * the setting adjustment toggles grab so strongly on the heavy denim pants fabric that the pair of pants I was wearing had noticeable wear on the inside of the pants legs at the knee level. Fixes required for this to be a good product: - both straps need to be redesigned to add or include padding on their edges and yet hold the brace in the correct location / alignment relative to the kneecap, and do so without cutting off blood supply to the upper and lower leg muscles -- the arc adjustment mechanismss need a way to be locked on their settings so they don't change position on their own -- the center slide that locks each brace angular adjustment feature in place does it so strongly that anyone could easily in break or strip off a fingernail to release it -- if it isn't released, the brace cannot let the leg flex in a normal arc; curiously, this setting mechanism does lock in place, but the other two do not. -- some form of pad or pads need to be present to keep the brace vertically and rotationally positioned around the kneecap; my other pull on braces use a gel rubber pad to hold their position on the kneecap, but this brace has nothing like that feature So yes, I'm sending them back for a full refund. ... show more
