  • MAKE ADJUSTMENTS ON-THE-FLY Want hotter temperature or need to cook it longer? Simply adjust on-the-fly any time. The digital controls are easy to operate, and the response is immediate. Select from 6 convenient preset temperature settings or fine tune your own from 100F - 500F in 10F increments. Add or deduct cooking time without starting the cooking process over again. NUWAVE Cooktops are the first to revolutionize the industry by introducing precision temperatures to induction cooking.
  • PRECISE TEMPERATURE CONTROL With 45 precise temperatures at your disposal, you can keep delicate sauces warm at 100F to grilling a juicy steak with serious grill marks at 500F. Melting chocolate could not be easier. Simply set the Flex at 120F; add chocolates into an induction ready pot; and stir. It will never burn. Even preparing the most delicate sauces or melting sugar is no longer daunting. At the right temperature, your culinary creations will be perfect each and every time.
  • FAST and EFFICIENT Flex heats the pot directly without heating up the cooking elements first. For generations, people only had two choices in stovetop cooking - Gas or Electric. Gas stovetops use open flame, which can be dangerous. Electric burners use exposed coils that fluctuate in temperature. The Flex transfers 85% - 90% of its electro-magnetic energy to heat energy! With no open flames or hot coils, Flex cooks faster with virtually no wasted heat and safer than any traditional stovetop.
  • PERFECT FOR DORMS AND RVS Flex is light-weight and portable. The slim design and its patented insulation technology brings the heating coils closer to your cookware than any other induction cooktop for faster and even heating, ensuring no hot or cold spots for optimal cooking experience. It is designed to work well when the power source is less than ideal. Performs flawlessly in RVs, dorms, cabins, and campsites. With 3 wattage settings of 600, 900 and 1300 watts, you can cook anywhere.
  • PROGRAMMABLE FUNCTIONS With the Flex, you can boil, simmer, fry, deep fry, stir fry, saute, steam, sear, slow cook, BBQ, melt, grill, warm or simply re-heat and keep warm for up to 100 hours! The applications are endless. Now Its easy to prepare healthy, great tasting meals with a touch of a button.

  • Seems Great but service is less then optimum
Size: PIC Flex + 9" Fry Pan
I’ve been cooking w/ this unit for a number of weeks and I am happy w/ the unit. As an RVer, running exclusively solar, I am watchful of power consumption. I heat water several times a day for tea in a microwave, among other things. The hotplate heats a cup of water in half the time my microwave needs and while using less power during that; about 1kW (on high power) vs 1.4kW for the microwave. For hamburgers, steaks, fired rice the plate works great. What was important to me was the ability to set the wattage duty cycle (3 levels). One plate I had and returned ‘simulates’ low wattage by turning the plate on at full then shutting off power, cycling to effectively provide a lower wattage on average per minute. The Nuwave actually does let you turn the wattage down. The unit is quieter than the one I returned. The volume seems acceptable. What is also nice is when done w/ the cook cycle the fan stops unlike other plates. The unit, in standbye mode (never off), draws 113mA. It does display a red zero in standby but its not flashing. I plug the unit into a short floor strip and toggle in off I should add NuWave has a usefull owner’s manual/cookbook and Quick Start reference chart, the unit i return had a couple pages of poorly written operator info. What puzzels me is why a pan is provided but no lid as the some recipes specify a lid. Now this is where I nik NuWave. Tho the cooker is excellent the support is not. One can order a lid from NuWave, but the website would not process my order. Called - no answer. Chat - no one there. I emailed that I had a stuck order, since their website say ‘not’ to resubmit the order. That was WEEKS ago and got no reply. I went ahead and reorder several says ago as the website appeared to work. But I’ve received no order confirmation in these several days. I gave them the benefit of a doubt as the this was during the holidays At the time of this writing, again their chat does not work for inquiring about a purchace. Call one number; again on infinite hold. Found a different sales phone number sending me to option two for check your order. This directed me to call a different number. Calling that number the line was reported as disconnected. Persisting yet I eventually got customer service via chat. ... show more

  • Avoid this item.
Size: Pic Pro Chef
It's a beautiful machine — no grease trapping seams, easy to clean, one slick piece of glass from front to back. Unfortunately, it is totally useless for its intended purpose: cooking food. It is neither precision nor pro. Its temperature control is abysmal. And the feature that caused me to try it after three other miserable attempts at induction cooktops, the ability to select power level, is a total failure, too. Even worse, from a user's perspective, it totally violates the principle of least astonishment. The Watts display does not reveal how many Watts the unit is actually drawing, as measured by my Watts Up meter. And the wattage control is overridden by the wattage limits set by different temp settings. So, I first tried to use it to heat a 10" Lodge cast iron griddle for a grilled cheese sandwich. Fail. Set for 300°, the temperature rapidly zoomed past the 500° limit of my non-contact thermometer. Ok, fine, let's set it for 220° at 1500 Watts to simmer some brats. Fail. Even set at 1500 Watts, this stupid burner overrides the user's power selection and limits the heat to 600 Watts, meaning the cook's legs will grow together waiting for cold brats and beer to come to a simmer. And then, when set to 475° to finally attain a boil, resetting it to 180° causes it to settle at 213°. By some means, my Breville grill and my my InstantPot seem to have mastered temperature control technology. My DigIQ controller for my BGE understands temperature control, too. Why NuWave cannot do similarly is a question that only they can answer. Perhaps NuWave's engineers failed differential equations in college. ... show more

  • burner size!!!!!!
Size: Pic Pro Chef
I was so looking forward to this cook top! It is great for boiling water or making soups. Do not buy this cook top with the idea of using it to fry or saute. The heating coil/magnet is about three inches in diameter. I tried brand new William Sonoma induction pans, my heavy cast iron pans all with the same results. An area of about 3-4" in the center of the pan heated and the outer area of a 10" skillet was so cool I could touch it with my finger while frying bacon. Huge disappointment! ... show more

  • Small heating element
Size: Pic Pro Chef
The "cooking area" on this is advertised as 8", but the actual heating element is more like 5". In the photo, it looks like 4", but that is just because the ruler was not sitting on the bottom of the pan, but was closer to the camera. The infrared picture shows the heat concentrated in the middle of the pan. The bottom of the pan is about 8.5". Update: I've been using this for about a year now, and found that if I preheat the pan properly, it's quite usable. The temperature settings don't really work well with cast iron, so I need to attend to it and move temperature up or down to get it to keep simmering or frying. The flat glass top is easy to clean and allows me to put a 12" skillet on it. Still need to use gas to get an even temperature with cast iron or do delicate cooking. ... show more

  • Accurate temperature control nearly impossible.
Size: PIC Flex + 9" Fry Pan
Accurate temperature control is nearly impossible. I set the unit to about 230° and it went beyond the limit of what the seasoning on my cast-iron pan could tolerate. It got too well above 500°. Unless the mechanism for controlling the temperature on these less expensive induction units improves, I don’t see any future for these appliances. I managed to obtain a stable temperature at around 300° but when I added food, the temperature spiked. I shut off the unit before the temperature exceeded 450 Degrees. I tried boiling water and the time far exceeded what my electric stove top could do. I would welcome any comments from people that have had a different experience. ... show more
