NOW Foods GABA, L-Tryptophan, 5-HTP, Taurine, I take all of these daily now. Enhances my overall mood, attitude, outlook on life, and energy levels. I simply feel better taking these supplements. Helps me through the depressing winter months. For myself, I find that these are best taken on an empty stomach with a cup of coffee in the morning, and then I won't eat for an hour afterwards. Then I might take again at around 6 PM, as I typically don't eat dinner until 8 PM. Good stuff, good quality. Repeat customer.

Effective for sleep quality when taken with GABA

This has been my first time using 5htp for sleep and its had a noticable effect. Sleep onset is faster and I seem to spend more time in REM since I'm having much more vivid and memorable dreams. I'll keep taking these for a while and then ween off to see if i notice any decline in sleep quality coming off them. I have been taking this with a GABA supplement so I cant say for sure whether the sleep quality increase is from this, the gaba, or a synergistic effect. Research studies point to it being a combined effect though. One thing to note though is i did get some stomach upset from them. Nothing severe, but definitely noticable from about 30 to 90 minutes after taking a full capsule when i first got them. Easy solution was to pop open the capsule and dump out about 1/4 of the powder, then close it and take the capsule. I did this for about 2 weeks and then stepped up to the full capsule. By that point my system had gotten used to it and I no longer had any stomach upset.

Great Supplement and Brand

I love 5-htp by the now brand. I have been taking this for about 6 months now at nighttime. It helps me with relaxation and calming my nervous system. I notice a difference in my mood when I don't take it. I feel my thoughts are calmer too. Of course, do your research and find out the right stack for your mental health but this is something that really helps me. I recommend this product.

After 10 yrs of trying to help my daughter stay away from px meds & navigating a path of holistic treatment for anxiety/depression, Im singing hallejuah!! She is several months in, with 1 in the morn & 1 at night, & she is so impressed! Bye bye depression! You know the struggle of trying multiple supplements, different concoctions, cleanses, self care tips, etc...only to feel like depression may be the cross you'll have to bare for the rest of your life.. Let me tell you, this 5HTP is a miracle! She has had no side effects! I told her, if needed, she could take one around lunch and she hasnt needed to at all! I want to be clear we have a vitamin protocol. I dont want to give any false hopes, that this is a one & done...she takes cbd gummies, lithium oratate, ltheanine, pan acid...and i would be nervous removing any one of these from her daily supplements BUT the 5 HTP is what kicked the depression out with incredible results! We will be lifers with this company & this product! Blessings to anyone reading who is struggling with depression right now...give this 5HTP a try & never stop praying for total healing!

Makes me not go crazy

This added to my normal antidepressant really helps even me out. Or maybe it’s just placebo. Either way I’ll keep taking them. I don’t notice any of the other things like added focus or appetite suppressant, but that’s not why I use it.
