This is the first coffee maker I have personally owned since becoming an adult, and I honestly can't say enough good things about it. I've had it for about a month now, use it a couple of times a week, and haven't had any issues with it. It is ridiculously easy to use and clean. After I'm done brewing, it takes me less than a minute to rinse everything out. And the filter that came with it hasn't stained yet. It's also surprisingly quiet. I can barely hear it running unless I'm standing right next to it in my kitchen. It brews pretty quickly too. It generally takes less than 10 minutes to brew 6 cups. There is a clear water-level window on the side, which makes it really easy to see how much water is in it. One thing I've noticed is that I like to add about 2 cups more water than the amount of coffee I actually want to brew. For example, if I want 4 cups of coffee, I usually fill the water to the 6 cup mark. The coffee comes out nice and hot and will usually stay hot or at least pretty warm for about 20–25 minutes after brewing, even with the machine turned off. I'm also pretty picky about my coffee, and I've been using Walmart brand decaf Donut Shop coffee with this machine. The coffee has been tasting amazing! So far, I've been really impressed with the quality of the coffee it makes. It's also a very nice-looking machine and fits perfectly on my counter without taking up too much space. Above all, I love how simple it is. You literally just fill it up and turn it on/off. I also believe it has a brew-stop function, so if you remove the coffee pot while it's brewing, the coffee stops flowing from the machine, which is a nice feature. It brews coffee beautifully, and the temperature is just right—hot enough to enjoy without having to wait forever for it to cool down. One of my favorite features is how simple it is to use. This is a beautifully designed retro coffee maker. The looks are what I wanted and it fits well into my kitchen. The one problem I had with it is that the water tank leaks if I set it up for the morning the night before which I like to do to save time in the morning, I make 6 cups of coffee for myself and when I set it up, half of the water had leaked out onto the countertop, I have a napkin holder about a foot away from the coffee maker and all of the napkins had wicked up water and I had to throw them away. I decided not to return the coffee maker, ans instead when I set up my coffee the night before, I fill the urn with water and then I pour it in before I turn on the coffee maker in the morning. ... show more

    • Buyer beware - don't make the mistake of buying this product
I wanted to love this coffee maker so much, I really did. It's definitely a fun design and looks great, and it worked like a charm for a couple of months, but then I started having the same issue that so many others started having when their pot wasn't very old. It started steaming up a storm (literally making the machine soaking wet with steam sweat as it tried to brew) and brewing very, very little coffee... and having a burnt taste to what actually did end up in the pot. On top of that, the carafe is incredibly thin and fragile. My first one cracked by the handle within weeks, and after some teeth pulling I managed to get a replacement from the company... but then, a little over a month later, the brewer itself stopped working. I know I've read about a 1-year warranty, but I honestly don't even think it's worth the hassle trying to get a replacement for a crappy coffee brewer that's just going to crap out on me again after a few months. For example, when I tried to get a replacement carafe... I first contacted Amazon and was told I had to go directly to Nostalgia, so I did. I emailed them first, but after many days did not hear back. I then found a phone number and called. After a looooooong hold time I finally spoke to someone and she was very nice and said she was sending me a new pot (despite their website saying they were out of stock). A day after I spoke to this lady on the phone someone else replied to my email and said they couldn't send me a new carafe. I told her that I spoke to someone who said they would send me a new carafe to which this person basically replied, "so she did." It sounded like the person on the email didn't want to send me a replacement at all despite them actually having them in stock. I'm glad I got someone on the phone, because they did come through... but that's still a bit shady - hence why I don't even feel like dealing with trying to replace the whole crappy unit now that it's crapped out on me. I'm sadly tossing this in the trash and putting money towards a top rated and top notch coffee brewer. No fun nostalgia in my kitchen, design wise, but I'd rather have functionality any day of the week. ... show more
