I’ve been metal detecting for 32 years and this machine is an absolute monster in the field! I went to a park that I have gone over with other machines in the past and this detector fleshed out so many good targets in areas that I have already covered. My only problem with the machine is that it can outlast me in the field! It goes deep. It is fairly intuitive. It is fast. And it is fun to use. Nokta- Makro really knocked it out of the park with the Legend. I’m sold! I’m a Nokta fan buy for sure. This is a such a great detector and it the fact that is priced affordably only make it even greater! PS - I really believe this machine can hold it’s own with the big boys from Minelab and XP… ... show more

This is mostly a review for the seller.. I'll fill it in later with my thoughts on the detector. Pro-pack was shipped the same business day I ordered. I'm finding this to be as good as it's reputation (and Nokta's reputation in general). Buy with confidence. You've already watched a million YT videos, pull the trigger. Best value on the market right now. Edited to add a full review: After having this since it was first released, I couldn't be happier. It's still the best value in metal detecting out there. I've seen a couple people remark that it's not newbie friendly. I disagree. It can be as complicated or as simple as you'd like. It does have a ton of settings and tweaking them for the absolute best performance for a given set of conditions takes some time getting to know the machine... But you can also set it to 60 tone, put it in Park or Field mode, and start swinging. You'll still have a better preforming machine than 90% of the people out there. The extra settings are just the cherry on top of the ice cream sunday :) I highly recommend the Pro pack if the extra money isn't an issue. I would caution that this particular package comes with the LG28 (11" round) coil and a lot of people prefer the newer edition of the pro pack that comes with the LG30 (12x9 oval). They reach the same depth, but the LG30 is a little lighter. I bought mine early when the round coil was the only one available, but it really isn't an issue for me because I use the small 6" coil 90% of the time and I use the massive LG35 (13.5x12.5) I bought separately when I want to go deep (and it goes deep!). The 6" coil is $130 if bought separately... so for an extra $30 you get an extra battery ($90 purchased separately) and a really high quality set of wireless headphones ($110). The newer version of the pro pack also comes with a carbon fiber upper shaft. Once again, it doesn't really bother me having the high impact plastic upper shaft. Both have a carbon fiber lower shaft which is where you will feel the weight.. and the weight difference between the upper shafts can't be more than an ounce or so.. But if it's important to you, get the newer version of the pro pack. If I were buying it right now I would opt for the newer version just on principle because the price is the same, but the actual difference is negligible. If this were $30-$40 bucks cheaper than the newer version of the pro pack I'd choose this one... but for the same price you might as well get the slight weight improvements. I have also seen people complain that their machine was "out of date" when they got it. Regardless of when your machine was built, the very first thing you want to do when you get it is update it. Nokta has been great about listening to customer feedback and has done several updates... sometimes tweaking the algorithm, sometimes fixing bugs, and sometimes adding new features. I've updated mine several times since I got it. It's painless and easy to do even if you generally have trouble with tech things. YouTube has a million videos to walk you through it. The battery life on this machine is amazing. I have still not completely drained the battery in one day of detecting... but the extra battery is nice if I forget to charge it or am going away on a long detecting weekend. I'd also like to add that this machine is great for tall guys. I was a little worried because I'm 6'5" and stooping even slightly while metal detecting gets fatigues the back quickly. I have this adjusted about an inch shorter than full length. As a final thought, while I think the pro pack is a GREAT value... if money is tight I have no problem at all recommending the basic kit. As I said, the battery life will last more than a day and in a pinch you can recharge this with a small USB battery bank while you use it.. Unless you're hunting super trashy areas the standard coil works just fine. I would most definitely recommend buying a stripped down Legend before buying a lesser detector that came with extra coil, battery, headphones, digging tools, etc. ... show more

    • Awesome machine
First off, this machine is very advanced for the price. Would have given 5 stars but for whatever reason I received an older version. Should have come with the LG 30 COIL AND THE 01.11 update but I got the LG 28 coil and the 01.09 version. The update wasn't hard to do but a little disappointed I didn't get the coil it was supposed to come with. Make sure you read your descriptions. ... show more

    • I Love this Machine- Fantastic Value
I upgraded from a Nokta Simpex (used the Simplex for three years with great success). I actually paid for my legend with three months worth of dug Clad coins (I get out often). I got the Legend because i wanted something with more settings and tones). In my first three months i dug three gold rings, 15 silver rings, and many (104 rings total) non precious jewelry rings etc. I mostly hunt parks, but I see YouTubers hunting saltwater beaches successfully with the Legend. This hobby pays for itself if you get out often. I love my Legend!!! ... show more

High Quality out of the box. I did a ton of video watching to ultimately conclude that this was the best selection for what I needed. I’m new to this so I felt that instead of wasting money with trial and error, I wanted to learn from the pros. I gotta say, it is a great device, I haven’t used all the features and really, I bought it for my son but it is finding things that are considerably deep in the ground.     • Awesome machine for the price
Nokta legend is a great machine for the price. It's pretty dang quiet most of the time before you even do any noise cancelling or ground balance unless your sensitivity is up there. It's accurate and able to separate targets very efficiently. I also like the fact it has a built-in flashlight and you can set the backlight to always on or automatic only comes on when you hit a button or a target. Using the 11" coil is a little bit of a workout lol, but I'll probably just use it at the beach or a field. The 6" coil I can swing all day it goes pretty deep for what I'm looking for. I also like that it'll collapse down small enough to fit in my backpack. I highly recommend this for it's price and performance. ... show more

    • Disappointing Quality Control
Box looked like it was haphazardly & carelessly opened. I put that aside and upon viewing the components, all seemed fine. Only to then realize that there was no headphones included. Instead of simply sending me headphones, I am required to send back the hole unit. :(
