I rate it four stars instead of five because the construction is a little light and flimsy. I have a nice, ornate wood desk that you can't just clamp something onto. My office space used to be an open sitting room so it doesn't have a light fixture in the ceiling. I needed a lamp with a long neck so I could put the base way over in the corner of my desk and have light directly above. This fits the bill perfectly. I use the weighted base, but for longer reaches, there is not enough weight to keep lamp from tipping, so I purchase a 5 pound barbell weight and situated the plate so a hole in the plate fits over the support socket for the arm of the lamp. I also affixed the off-on switch to desk support using double sided tape. Lamp is out of the way until needed. Great device to use when building a new computer. ... show more

The selection of light color (white to warm) and dimmer control are excellent and the light bar itself is long. Gives excellent task light. However, I had to use a tool to pry apart the lamp body in order to insert the light bar itself. The body is on the flimsy side using only two struts rather than three in the lowest segment.
