Description

NT-H2 is the further improved second generation of Noctua’s award-winning hybrid thermal compound. Combining the iconic NT-H1’s proven features, superb ease-of-use and renowned long-term stability with a novel, fine-tuned formula of micro particles for even better thermal performance, NT-H2 is an enthusiast-grade paste for the highest demands. Whether it’s air- or water-based cooling, CPU or GPU applications, overclocking or silent systems: NT-H2 will consistently deliver outstanding results and thanks to the included cleaning wipes, it is just as easy to remove as to apply. Further improving the award-winning NT-H1, NT-H2 uses a new, fine-tuned mixture of metal oxide micro-particles for even lower thermal resistance and reduced bond-line thickness at typical mounting pressures. This allows it to achieve even better performance in most application scenarios. The 3.5g pack of NT-H2 includes three large NA-CW1 cleaning wipes that are pre-moistened with an isopropyl alcohol mixture and make it child’s play to remove: Simply wipe off the paste from the CPU and the base of the cooler using one of the wipes and you’re done! While some high-end thermal compounds and pads are risky to use due to their electrical conductivity or corroding properties, there’s no risk of short-circuits with NT-H2 and it’s completely safe to use with any type of CPU cooler, regardless of whether it’s made from copper or aluminium and whether it’s nickel-plated or not. NT-H2 unique formula is highly stable over time, even after longer periods of usage. It can be stored at room temperature for at least 3 years and due to the compound’s exceptional curing, bleeding, dry-out and thermal cycling characteristics, it can be used on the CPU for 5 years or more. Sufficient for around 3-20 applications (depending on the size of the CPU or GPU, e.g. around 3 applications for large CPUs such as TR4 and around 20 for small CPUs such as LGA1151), the classic 3.5g packaging size is ideal for most users who only install coolers every now and then. Thanks to its excellent spreading properties, there is no need to manually spread NT-H2 before installing the cooler: Simply apply some paste onto the CPU (see instructions for details), put on the heatsink and you’re ready to go! It shaved off 4-6°C compared to previous thermal pastes, making it a smart choice for demanding CPUs and GPUs. Highly recommended for anyone wanting better cooling without emptying their wallet. Full Review: The Noctua NT-H2 3.5g thermal paste comes with three large cleaning wipes, which is awesome. You get plenty of paste – enough for multiple applications. Honestly, I was hoping for something effective, and its performance is surprising given the price. The paste itself looks like your typical silver compound. It's non-conductive, which is great because I don't have to worry about accidental spills frying my components, especially with some of the heat spreader designs out there. Plus, it doesn't require any “cure” time. I just applied it, mounted the cooler, and was good to go. Instant results are my kind of thing. I saw a significant temperature drop – around 4-6°C – compared to other pastes I've used. I push my hardware hard, especially my array of modded Quadro RTX GPUs. They tend to run hot even with proper airflow. The temperature drop was consistent across all the GPUs I re-pasted, which was a huge relief. It performs nearly as well as Kryonaut. Maybe Kryonaut *might* have an edge of 1°C or two under extreme load, but the cost difference makes Noctua the smarter choice for me. Basically, the Noctua NT-H2 is a fantastic performer that won't break the bank. You get more paste and the cleaning wipes, all for less than a smaller tube of Kryonaut. Unless you need liquid metal, this is easily the best deal I've found. It works great at controlling the heat on your CPU and GPU. I have 5 gaming rigs to keep up with, and this goes in all of them to control the heat. It is easy to spread, and it just flat-out works. Pick some up if you need some thermal paste.

    • This is good thermal paste, but much cheaper options are available.
This is one of the best performing thermal pastes you can buy, without resorting to riskier "liquid metal" thermal pastes. However, it is much more expensive compared to some other pastes you can get, like GD-900. GD-900 performs almost as well as this paste, only lagging behind by a few degrees. But if you have a very hot running laptop, like my RAZER Blade Advanced 2018... this paste may be worth the extra cost. For other systems that tend to run cooler, GD-900 may work well enough, and costs much less... or is available in a much larger amount at the same price as you would pay for this syringe of Noctua. "Liquid Metal" pastes are generally the best of the best when it comes to thermal performance, but they are usually conductive and can destroy your PC if not properly applied. Conformal coatings are generally recommended for use with "Liquid Metal" pastes to help prevent shorts occurring from leakages... which it not an issue with PTM7950 or conventional pastes. PTM7950 thermal pads perform very well, but if you don't have enough mounting pressure (which can be a problem for some laptops) then it may not work well. PTM7950 is also a bit harder to find legitimate versions of (as some sellers sell knockoffs that don't work well), and it's harder to install. Once you apply it, you generally don't need to replace it. Conventional thermal pastes like this Noctua one have the benefit of being non-conductive and easy to install. The biggest con of conventional pastes is that they can dry out and stop working as well, eventually needing to be replaced. Lower quality pastes can dry out faster or have worse thermal performance. ... show more

    • Noticeable temperature difference
Bought this for my PC build last year. I immediately saw a temperature drop with my cpu. I didn't even use half the thermal paste. I ended up using the rest for my gpu PCB when I deshrouded it. Worked great again for temps.
