My thermal paste is difficult to spread or comes off the surface. What can I do? The surface should be thoroughly cleaned and be free of grease before use. The thermal paste should be at least at room temperature when applied. It is important to spread the thermal paste very slowly during application. How long is Thermal Grizzly thermal paste usable after opening? With proper storage and packaging, the thermal paste can be used for at least 3 years without issues, and in many cases, significantly longer. Why can't I find the thermal conductivity value on the packaging? The typically theoretical thermal conductivity values vary greatly depending on the application, as important factors such as contact pressure, temperature, or surface cannot be uniformly accounted for. Should I store the thermal paste in its original packaging after use? Thermal Grizzly thermal paste packaging is specially coated on the inside to protect the syringe and its contents from UV radiation and other environmental influences. I can't remember what I used before, but the paste dried out and my GPU was getting so hot it was shutting my PC down. So going from 110+ to 60c has been a life saver. I bought this thermal paste thinking it was the Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut. My fault I didn't read carefully. The paste itself is great for low voltage CPUs and entry level systems. In order to keep my 13700k at a good temperature with this I had to undervolt. I changed it my thermal paste today to the MX-6 today, and like magic the temps dropped almost 20c while gaming. 5 star because it's good for what it was intended, entry level systems. 1 star to myself for not reading ... show more

This paste may not be for everyone as it’s mostly used for overclockers or when you delid a cpu. Used this after delidding my PS3 both the RSX and CELL cpu, done it successfully after my first try. This helped a lot, even when I jailbreaked my PS3 to help with fan curve it was a bit loud, but now I can run my fan at 35% while keeping it under 75-60 depending how demanding my games are. Compared to before I had to use auto at 70c which kept the fan speed at 50-60 at the most and it was loud but manageable if you get used to it but it’s hard to use it during the night since my family members are sleeping. Other than that awesome paste especially when it comes to performance or when temps really matter, a lot of people say that all paste are the same and it shouldn’t matter, but when it comes to overclocking or temp performance even a 2c drop matters the most, well to me everyone has different opinions. ... show more

I have been a long time fan of AS5 and decided that it was time to revisit thermal compounds to see if there was anything better on the market. AS5 has always served me well but I always worried about it being capacitive. Thermal Grizzly along with many others is not. The reviews showed it out performing AS5 as well as many other well known brands. So I decided to give it a try. It arrived with the tube of compound and two different applicator tips. After running a CPU temp test with Aida64 on my Noctua cooler for a solid comparison I prepped my cpu and heatsink with arcticlean and applyed Thermal Grizzly. I was impressed with how easy it was to apply and not forming a skin like some others I have tried ie: shin-etsu and GeLid. The instructions recommend a full coat on the cpu spreader instead of the rice grain or pea method and the applicator tips make this incredibly easy to do. Once reassembled I ran the same stress tests with Aida64 for a full 10 minutes and noticed the overall core temp dropped on my 4770K by 7c from 47 to 40c and the individual cores also dropped in temps by 4-8c compared to AS5 that was on the cpu for 6 months. I then ran the system for two weeks under normal conditions and repeated the test and only saw a 1c difference in core temps. Overall this thermal compound is very impressive and made a significant difference in my temps. Well worth looking into if you are using something like AS5. ... show more

I recently built a high end gaming rig and have applied this paste to both my CPU and video card. The CPU (i7 11700K) is overclocked to 4.9GHz on all cores cooled by a Noctua NH-D15 with am aggressive fan curve and the GPU (EVGA RTX 3080 Ti FTW3) is overclocked 250 MHz with memory OC of 2100 MHz also with an aggressive fan curve. While I did not get a chance to test the CPU on a common paste with the initials AS, I did get to compare the video card's factory paste vs. this. Temps dropped a whopping 8C under load from 66C to 58C with that 3080 Ti on the exact same fan curve and ambient indoor temperature (70% fans after 60C, indoor temp of 76F or 24C). The application requires very steady hands as you need to apply the paste to the entire chip unlike other pastes that just require dot or line application using the heat sink install force to spread it. The applicator/injector helps a lot. All in all I am sold on this stuff after years of reading raving reviews on hardware forums thinking they were paid advertisements. This is the real stuff. Speaking of that, make sure to check the authenticity of what you get and being from Germany with a small document referencing that. There is an increasing level of fraud out there. ... show more
