It is a little hard to spread thinly, even with supplied tips. Warming it in a glass of hot water first helped a bit. It's a great paste, though. It has a long working life, excellent heat transfer, and works with aluminum heatsinks, unlike the Conductonaut.

  • Werid thermal paste but overall good performance

I used thermal grizzly for a long time, second time using the extreme first time was on a computer and sold without testing, this time i used it on my computer and cpu idles at 61c which seems very high but when i benchmark it at 100% load the temperatures drop to 50c and back to 60 after idle, its like the cpu temps does the opposite of what its supposed to do, with this which makes me suggest the paste has higher heat transfer the hotter it is, also applied to gpu and it does the same thing higher idle temps then under full load ... show more

I bought an Intel I9-9900KF to replace an older CPU, used the same CPU cooler, and had comparable temps to the old CPU even under heavy load, its been a few weeks now, and it's still doing as well as when I first put it in. This thermal paste works great and goes on easily enough. I don't have any comparisons to other products as this was my first time applying thermal paste. I was looking forward to attaching the spreading tips to the syringe, but they do not fit. The inner diameter of the tips is too small to accommodate the large outer diameter of the syringe tip. Instead, I had to put the thermal compound on the CPU and use the tips between my fingers to spread it. It's rather disappointing but the results are not. I have an Intel I7 11700k, and that CPU gets very hot, even under the liquid. My ambient temperatures are very low as I live in the north and do not use heat in my room and have my window open. With Arctic silver 5 I was idling around 40c and under load would hit 70-80c. With this compound, I've been idling around 25-30c and under load, I'm hitting around 60-65c. I've used Arctic Silver for over 10 years now but this compound, with the increased thermal conductivity, blows it out of the water. Please make you're spreading it evenly. Am not an expert or enthusiast PC builder but got this to try out (well reviewed by the decent tech folk like GN, J2C). I have no complaints and the TGKE is as advertised. Very good temps (13700k idles (all cores) from 37-45 Celsius with room temps usually at tropical Fiji 26-30 Celsius when suing a corsair 360 AIO). I don't use air conditioning so am glad this paste is quality. The adhesive/sticky quality is impressive (when smushing the AIO down, am guessing air pockets could occur so having used stock pastes and other brand names (all were nice) i find the cohesion for TGKE the best so far...haven't used the KP one though and I hear that is just as good, if not better maybe). Got these when I didn't know about Thermal Grizzly thermal sheets. Next will try them out (nothing wrong with paste and this one is awesome...or to be punny, extreme). Always authentic, always delivered quickly and always a great experience! I love buying from Onyx PC! Sorry, but they deserve a shoutout with the current imposter merchandise landscape. Now onto the review. Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme in most consumer use case or general overclocking scenarios performs marginally better than standard Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut such as air cooling, AIO or even custom loops, but read on. Although my temperatures did reduce by roughly 1°-2° Celsius at idle or under 100% stress test load in comparison to standard Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut which might appear to insubstantial to some, what isn't insubstantial is how quickly it was able to dissipate heat overall no matter the load, before, during and after the fact. It's quite efficient! I'll explain why this matters to even the average user. Although I tend to heavily overclock my systems, so it's an obvious benefit for me to utilize extremely high end thermal compounds, in many ways, it's just as beneficial for a standard user. In terms of gaming, you will maintain a higher average core clock speed on the CPU and GPU, because of how efficient Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme dissipates heats. Think of it this way.... When in a usual gaming scenario, you're not constantly involved using the maximum 3D clock speeds, no matter the game. In this day and age, Nvidia GPU clock speeds are variable unless you force voltage. So, that being said, throughout your gaming session, you're in the in game menus, options menus, pre-game lobbies etc. When this happens, the graphics card automatically lowers the variable clock speed. In this scenario, when this occurs, there's a shocking amount of heat that gets dissipated using Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme. This is where Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme is worth every penny. Your GPU and CPU clock speed averages will be substantially higher, because of how effective it is as heat dissipation. Although I utilize Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme in my overclocked gaming desktop, where I was most impressed was when I applied this to my sons CPU/GPU within his Asus TUF 15F 3060 gaming laptop. His overall temperatures were reduced dramatically (+- 12° Celsius difference) and his average core clock speeds went up by +- 15%. So it's quite clear that if you're using this in more extreme thermal conditions where efficient thermal dissipation is key to performance, it's going to perform extremely well. If you're an advanced overclocker like myself, it's a no brainer and I surely don't have to explain to you why using this will serve you well, but for the average user I felt that explanation was important, as they might not fully understand why high end thermal compounds are beneficial to them. ... show more
