I also have the original NU25 headlamp, which they now call the NU20 and both of my Nitecore headlamps are amazingly light and work perfectly. By far the best headlamps I’ve ever owned. Brightness is perfect and the options of a spotlight, flood, extra dim, and red light are amazing.

Very light to carry. Time will tell hiw long the batteries last. Only issue is access to power for recharging. Regular lights you can switch to aaa batteries which you can carry

Got this as a birthday gift for my husband and I’ll have to buy myself one too. Exceeded my expectations. The light is very bright and it’s really weight. I was skeptical of the comfort of the elastic verses the thicker bands most head lamps come with. But it creates a better grip without being constricting. We use it a lot for runs in the dark and it doesn’t bounce around and it’s much lighter than other headlights we have. I’ve had no issues with the charging either. I bought this as a small back-up light for hiking and ski touring. I was a bit hesitant to rely on a light that does not have a field replaceable battery, but I’ve moved this up to be my primary light for most hikes. My first use was a bit of a test when I arrived a few hours late to a trailhead and had to start my hike in at dusk. I used this for a couple of miles hike in on a mixed wooded and rock scramble trail. I had no trouble following the trail and lighting far enough in front of me to stay on trail. Despite the thin bungee cord straps, I had no trouble keeping the light well positioned on my forehead. After getting to my campsite, I did all my setup with this headlamp and then made a dinner in the dark with the dim red mode. I consider the feature to turn on the red light without turning the bright white modes on first a compelling feature. I was able to get the red light in the middle of the night without temporarily blinding myself. The only reason I can’t give it a full 5 stars is the lack of a replaceable batteries. I would not be willing to take these as a the only lights on a long trip as I am not the type to carry a large usb battery brick. ... show more
