I am still learning this grill so this review is not coming from someone with a lot of experience at this time. Haven’t said that, so far I am very much enjoying this. Because it is different from what I am previously used to, there is a little learning curve. It’s not difficult though. I love that I can use this as both a grill and smoker. One thing to like is that there are many, many cookbooks available for this product. On a sidenote, I didn’t want to have to spend extra money for the base and so I took the old grill off of the frame And put a board across the top and painted the whole thing. Looks good and is very functional. Make sure you keep this grill level so that the grease drains properly. Also, you can get disposable grease trays to fit inside the tray it comes with. This makes clean up a breeze.

I absolutely LOVE this thing. I smoke food literally all the time now(and its delicious too). Traditional pellet smokers still require more attention during cooking, but this one is truly "set it and forget it" for the most part. There is zero issue with "flaming up" due to the pellets not being used for cooking, but only for flavor. It is pretty much an electric oven/grill/griddle with the ability to blow smoke around the food to make it have a delicious smoked flavor. The only thing you need to remember when smoking large pieces of meat is that it does need to have the rather small pellet hopper and needs refilling every hour or so. I also find that the temp I need to smoke things at is just a little lower than what people using traditional pellet smokers recommend.
