I've owned a Ninja Foodi Grill for some time now and love it. Same operating principle as the Wood Fire Grill but of course it has no smoke option. It works so well that my wife and I use it almost every day to prepare lunch or dinner and based on that I decided to give the Wood Fire Grill a try. I ordered the Pro XL model (OG850) with the temp probe and it arrived last week. Last night I mixed up a poultry brine and brined a 6 pound chicken overnight. This was my first cook with the unit so I was really interested to see how the chicken would come out. I filled the pellet hopper with the "mild" Ninja pellets, set the grill on "smoke", set the temp for 375 degrees as per the instructions, inserted the meat (with probe in the breast) into the grill and hit "start". It immediately started igniting the pellets and with a couple of minutes I could smell and see the smoke starting to seep from the grill. Right after that the grill started to cooking. 45 minutes into the cook I checked the pellets and saw that they had all burned down to ash so I refilled the hopper with some hickory pellets I had on hand. At 1 hour and 40 minutes the grill showed the chicken had hit internal temp of 165 degrees so I shut the grill and let the chicken sit and "rest" for 15 minutes. Took it out and it was a beautiful golden brown and probing the bird I could tell it was tender and juicy. Had some for lunch and I have to say it was the best smoked chicken I have had in a very long time. Tender, juicy, nice mild smoke flavor to it, just a fantastic bird. I have several other high end smokers and have been smoking meat and fish for over 40 years and I really have to say I am really impressed with this grill. It makes smoking a chicken so easy and fast it's just amazing. I can't wait to try it with some ribs, a pork butt or especially a brisket. This grill really is fantastic and I'm really glad I bought it. I had seen the commercials on tv many times but always figured it was just another info-mercial" and it couldn't be that good...... well, it is that good. If you're on the fence about it don't be..... just order it. You'll be glad you did.

We have used this for Turkey and Chicken, Pork Loin, Roast Beef and other meat items. Works great and just the right amount of smoke flavor with one pellet fill. Thermometer for cooking to preset internal temperature works well. Instructions for using the time/temperature setting are confusing so I'm not 100% sure we have that totally figured out, but the results were great. Power cord is short so consider that when placing the unit. The grid cleaning brush is a great addition. I put the grid in a laundry tub/sink to soak and use the brush to finish making the messy cleanup job easy.

Obviously a convection grill and smoker is going to be useful... This thing cooks burgers in 10-12 minutes! Combined with our indoor Ninja air fryer, we can literally make burgers and fries (that taste better) faster than it would take to drive to get fast food! The smoker with the integrated temperature probe is clutch! Fish, Pork, Steaks, Roasts, Whole Chickens, just plug in the thermometer, set the cook temp and internal temp and hit start! It'll automatically stop when it's done! SO EASY! Oh and it has a veggie basket for crispy smoked veggies! IF YOU EAT FOOD, YOU NEED THIS.
