Should I Buy It?

If you're in the market for a set of heavy-duty, versatile cookware that performs consistently across a range of cooking activities, the Ninja Foodi NeverStick pots and pans could be a worthwhile investment. However, potential buyers should weigh the cost against concerns over long-term durability and consider their willingness to follow care instructions closely to mitigate these issues.

  • Great bank for your buck!

I love these pots and pans! I bought them for my better half as a Christmas gift and I have to say, I'm impressed. They No butter needed to cook an egg, which is what I'd expect out of a non-stick product. They clean up easy. They are a solid weight and well put together. We have high usage of a couple of the pans and the rivets that hold the handles to the pans are holding strong without any signs of coming loose. We got two sets of pans that Christmas and we ALLWAYS use the Ninja pans over the other pots and pans. We did manage to ruin one of them... but it was user error. We boiled some eggs in a pot and left the pan on the burner for several hours.... The pot never caught on fire and even with scorching the inside of the pot with burnt egg... I was still able to clean the pan to a reasonable level that it can still be used. I wish it came with one much larger pan as we do sometimes cook for large family gatherings but overall, very happy with this set. It stacks well for easy storage. ... show more

  • Excellent, heavy duty anodized non-stick cookware!
Size: 12pc set
We had a bunch of super-cheap, random, non-stick pots and pans with a fairly traditional smooth Teflon-style non-stick coating. They were thin aluminum and the coating had begun to flake and scratch, some were dented and due to poor weighting, didn't sit evenly flat on the cooking surface. I did quite a bit of research before purchasing these Ninja Foodi NeverStick pots and pans, and this was absolutely the right solution for us. This 12-piece set had almost everything we were looking for and while not cheap, was the right price point for a quality set of cookware. Having used it now for a couple of months, here are my thoughts: - This stuff is not flimsy, thin, lightweight, or cheap feeling. These are thick-walled and dense and almost feel more akin to cast iron in the surface texture. (They are definitely lighter than cast iron, but heavier than thin-walled cheap aluminum.) - This cookware does require preheating (for the non-stickiness to work well,) and because of the extra material, it does take a bit longer to heat up to temp, but I would say it heats very evenly as a result, and makes cooking far more consistent. - Our lids are the "stackable" kind with the round nesting knob handles, and I do like that they can be shared between the pots and pans. In hindsight, however, the stacking feature of the lids wasn't really all that practical, as while the lids are "pretty" when stacked up, you inevitably need whatever isn't on top, and so have to pull them all apart every time you use them anyway. I'm still looking for a good cupboard organizer to slot the lids into sideways so they are all always easily available. - The one feature I would have liked to have seen, that comes in other brands of cookware but not these, were vent holes in the lids. It hasn't been a big issue, and I haven't had issues with gurgling lids or boil-overs, but having a steam vent in the lids would be nice. - The "non-stickiness" of this cookware is better than I expected. When I felt the texture of the cookware, I thought "how could this be non-stick?," and the first egg I tried to cook without oil or butter was a definitely mess, but I hadn't pre-heated the pan, and apparently that matters. When I tried again, and the pan was fully pre-heated, it worked flawlessly. I have used butter and oil with no problems as well, but be aware that you should not use cooking spray with these, however. (Apparently you shouldn't use cooking spray with ANY non-stick cookware. Who knew?) - Cleanup of this cookware has been easy, and while Ninja says this cookware is dishwasher safe, I have seen reviews where reviewers have said that the bases may become discolored if you wash them in the dishwasher (likely due to the reactivity of the aluminum with harsher detergents,) so we have been handwashing these to keep them looking nice. That said, I do already see some discoloration on a few of the bottoms, probably a result of occasional spillage on the cooking surface. I'm sure some Bartender's Friend and a good scrub would polish them right up. The only other note I had on this was that the rivets are an area where it might be more difficult to remove sticky food like eggs. The cooking surfaces have been very easy to clean and still look good. - We are babying this cookware a bit as I am still unsure how durable the anodized surfaces are. Ninja recommends putting paper towels between them when stacked, which we aren't doing, but I do take a little extra caution when taking these out and putting them away not to bang or scrape them together too much. Ninja also says that metal utensils may be used with these, but we already had nylon utensils, and I am skeptical enough that I wouldn't risk using metal unless I absolutely had to. Overall, I am very happy with this cookware, and I think it was a great investment for our kitchen! ... show more

  • Excellent
Size: 10pc set
Wonderful! I love this set. The pots and pans are nice and thick, but not too heavy. Absolutely nothing sticks to them. No matter what you cook, you can easily wipe out with a paper towel! You can even use metal utensils with no problem, just nothing sharp. I’ve had other, more expensive, pots and pans, but these are the best of all of them. I do wish that there were additional ones of different sizes available. I highly recommend this set. ... show more

  • Not my first set of cookware, though I wish it had been (8-piece)
Size: 8pc set
A bit of background: I've enjoyed cooking (for more than one) for three decades, but cookware purchases have always been "I need this now, and I don't have much money." And I've bought more sets than I care to remember, since keeping crappy-yet-functional cookware has not been a high priority in divorce proceedings. I'm scarcely what you'd call a professional chef, so my needs are aligned more with versatility and ease of use than one piece doing one thing exquisitely. I scratched up my previous nonstick T-Fal set to gather snow and ice during the Texas deep freeze to heat my apartment via boiling on the gas stove, so it was time to look for a more permanent cookware solution. After two weeks of research that included going to stores to physically handle what I was considering, I settled on these. The reason for choosing the 8-piece set was falling victim to quantity marketing in the past; the T-Fal was something like 18 pieces, and I used perhaps five of them plus lids more than once a year, with many never used in five years and just taking up space. Speaking of five years, the "lifetime" warranty is a direct bait-and-switch, but I was aware of that before the purchase. Realistically, a manufacturing defect in a nonelectronic product will rear its ugly head well before five years (but only if one uses all the pieces in the set regularly). The Ninja set arrived mid-July, so I've been using it for about two months. As I said above, I've been terrible about cooking for just myself. Turns out it wasn't the cooking I despised; it was needing to clean all the cookware after cooking but before eating, resulting in cold meals. The other option, of course, was leaving the pots and pans for later, which had its own downsides. You can probably guess from my use of the past tense where I'm going with this. I'm miserly with my stars and will not give five of them without a purchase being life changing, which this set has been. It's what we're promised by all nonstick cookware that underdelivers. • I still use butter for the flavor, but it's not necessary. Over-medium eggs are absurdly easy. • Heat distribution is excellent. None of the pots and pans has any noticeable hot spots. • Want to make a one-pan roast? Sear your meat in the 3-quart saute, let it rest while you saute the veggies, add it back in, arrange things like potatoes, and throw it in the oven. • Cleanup is wipe and rinse, even after several hours, including the exterior. Obviously you want to use soap afterward, but you're not going to be doing any scraping. • There really isn't much that can't be done with just this set. I ordered the C30830 12-inch pan recently because the 3-quart saute isn't ideal for keeping veggies from flying out before they soften up, but that's more indicative of me refusing to change my cooking style than a shortcoming of the pan (and my wok was getting the side eye after several years of nonuse). I did buy some decent silicone utensils along with these, as I'm not going to use metal on them regardless of advertising. I also bought a rack that allows the lids to be stored on each piece. They take up more space than stacking, but no scratching from contact, and as it's only two pots and three pans (the 12-inch also fits where the wok used to go), it still takes up less space than the old set. As someone who already enjoyed cooking, this set has made it so that I want to again, whether or not anyone is joining me. ... show more
