I prefer nicrew to all other aquarium lights and this one is actually one of my favorites. It is well made and very easy to program, probably the easiest of all my lights. Someone recommended this brand to me at a pet store and I had my doubts when I saw the price was lower than I’m used to. It turns out I was just spending more money than I had to because this light has all the great features that I look for in other brands like fluval, etc.. the remote has easy to use light changing features and different modes that you can quickly select from. You can quickly turn on the light choose the time that it currently is on the remote and then turn on the 24 hour mode. This will automatically cycled the light simulating sunrise getting brightest midday and simulating sunset getting dimmer as the evening goes on. Bright lights and a durable design. Love the brightness and color, size and price but after using a number of these the ones with the LCD screens are my favorite because I can set them up easily and read the display, make corrections as needed. If you get this one do watch the tutorial video because it makes more sense than the written directions. I have trouble getting one of them to remember the settings, or I am doing something wrong despite following directions. The others work great and are also great on terrariums (I keep freshwater shrimp and dart frogs under these lights). Value wise these are great and it's nice being able to choose red as a night light, or any other color, so the hassle might be worth it if you are looking for a lot of choices of colors. ... show more

I used these lights in my dart frog terrariums and I’m in love. The 24 hour mode that’s preset is awesome. It looks great. I’m not sure how the plants like them yet being that I’ve only had them a couple of days now. I’ll definitely be buying more in the future.

Edited to add: I love this light so much that I bought a second one for my 5g Betta tank. I’ve had this light about a year now and love it!! Works great. Love the color, the ability to dim or brighten and the adjustable program. Here’s a tip, the battery that comes with it doesn’t last long. If your 24 hour light schedule goes haywire, just replace the battery in the remote. Works like new again and your replacement battery will last a long time. This replaces an $85 light which stopped working after a year. The best thing about this light is the fact that you can adjust the brightness when using the 24/7 mode. Which is great if you have fish sensitive to bright lights and your not growing plants. This is the first light that I have found does this. ( and it was $24.00 !!! ) I'm loving it!
