  • Dependable and faultless (edit: 60% of the time, it works every time)
Size: 2.5"x5.1"x8.7" Style: USB 3.0 | 4K30Hz
UPDATE 1/14/23: Bumped it back up to 4 stars, because it turns out that the black screens during Netflix were due to a pair of DP-to-HDMI adapters that I was using and not the switch itself. Still occasionally has the problem with waking up the displays, but otherwise, still kicking. UPDATE 9/2/22: Lowered from 5 stars to 3 stars. Over time, it has definitely developed some "quirks" that are irritating. One of the most common is that machines will refuse to "wake up" the display, even after input, and the only solution is to toggle back-and-forth from that PC to another on the switch. This happens to every PC that is connected. I was also treated to black screens the first time that I fired up Netflix, so I'm guessing that the switch is not HDCP-compliant. Fun. I'm loath to find a replacement, since it generally works well enough and I spent a lot of money on it, but I'm not as impressed as I was initially. I've been using this for months now to share a dual-monitor setup, keyboard, mouse, and USB 3 hub (including additional peripherals and a microphone) between 4 PCs, including both my personal and work computers. I have had literally zero issues. It's expensive, but every cheaper KVM switch I've used has had intolerable quirks or has stopped working altogether after a month or two of use. If you have a serious multi-machine setup and need a no-frills, no-joke KVM switch, this is the guy for you. ... show more

  • lot of display/hdmi issues.
Size: 2.5"x5.1"x8.7" Style: USB 3.0 | 4K30Hz
the USB ports on this function just fine, the power cable is a standard barrel, but the display connections on this if you so much as nudge it will lose the displays, additionally as others have mentioned waking displays up frequently becomes an issue.

  • After 2 weeks satisifed with performance
Size: 2 Port | 1 Monitor Style: USB 2.0
Purchased this product about 2 weeks ago. I use it to switch between a HP laptop and a Dell Laptop for work. I use a Logitech keyboard and a generic optical mouse. I will switch between them 10-20 times a day. The HP laptop is always on ( I use a mouse juggler). The Dell must be woken up about 50% of the time. I have not observed any problems switching between the laptops. ... show more

  • Excellent
Size: 4 Port | 1 Monitor Style: USB 3.0 | 1080p
Item highly recommended. I use this to image computer (PCs) at the same time, using just a set of keyboard, mouse and monitor, and works perfect. this also can be use at home if you have more that 3 gaming consoles or other devices with just one TV.

  • Nothing fancy, just works
Size: 2 Port | 1 Monitor Style: USB 2.0
I plugged this in and it just works. My setup is pretty straightforward, a desktop PC and a laptop docking station sharing a wired keyboard and wired mouse, but it all worked out of the box. I would give it 5 stars, but it is pretty expensive for a basic KVM.

  • Be careful using adapters between kvm and monitors
Size: 2.5"x5.1"x8.7" Style: USB 3.0 | 4K30Hz
Great tech support turned my situation from bad to great. If possible buy a kvm that needs no adapters between kvm and your dual monitors. If you must use them, avoid dual hdmi to vga adapters as it could not power both of them. Tech support had me swap one of them to hdmi to dvi as that needs no power and voila. I suggest StarTech include more info for soho office users like me since data center usage is much more homogeneous ... show more

  • Easy to Setup Works very well
Size: 2 Port | 1 Monitor Style: USB 2.0
Because I am working from home, now have to juggle multiple laptops and am running out of home office real estate, I bought this KVM, specifically because my laptops don't have VGA ports. All I needed to do was plug in a USB 2 Type B cable and HDMI cable from each computer into the switch and an HDMI cable from the switch to the monitor. Followed the steps in the manual, which I had to download as they don't come in the box, and it worked perfectly. Screen image is sharp and I do not detect any lag in mouse or keyboard response. ... show more

  • Absolutely Terrible Quality, Awful stability, Intermittent at Best
Size: 2.5"x5.1"x8.7" Style: USB 3.0 | 4K30Hz
Stay far away! I typically search out StarTech devices specifically by brand name but this thing was AWFUL! I tried the two-port dual HDMI KVM first and monitors flickered all the time, tried better quality cables, still flickered all the time. So i upgraded to the 4-port model (this one) and it still happened all the time - but only on ports 2 and 3. 1 and 4 were fine. So I requested yet another replacement. The second one came in and port 1 was entirely bad. I couldn't get any monitors to work whatsoever. Ports 2-3 flickered from time to time but port 4 was entirely fine. For the record, all 4 ports were connected with the same manufacturer and length HDMI cables. So I ordered a CKL dual monitor KVM and so far, no flickering, all the ports work, and the USB ports on the front was a big plus. Stay away! Not worth your time or energy to diagnose this thing. ... show more
