  • Beware the reader!
Good follow up to the Washington Wolves series, gives “what happened to” the characters introduced in the Wolves series. I read the kindle edition and then decided to purchase the audiobook so I can rest my eyes and still read a book. I have subscribed to audiobooks for decades and continue to like them. This book is an exception due to the female reader who has the most irritating voice I have ever encountered in Audible. I am glad I got a bargain on the purchase of this book because I will not finish it and will delete it from my library. BEWARE the reader, please listen to a sample first. ... show more

  • British Footballer Baby Daddy!
This book was a quick and easy read. The plot flowed well. The extended Ward family didn’t have a huge part in this book since the majority took place in England. The book could have been a little more emotional, but it still worked. ❤️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ✍️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️ ⭐️⭐️

  • Know your role in love
"The worst thing I can imagine is being away from my heart. That's you, love. Both of you." Jude...finally feeling secure...strong enough to put his feelings out there was the most beautiful part for me. This story overall was a sweet love story that was about knowing your role in different relationships. Work, parenting, siblings, and traditional relationships. We watch them sometimes poorly navigate through them all. Jude....sweet, handsome, passionate Jude. Although Jude was the older one in this couple, he was the one that experienced the most growth. They had a 9 yr age gap and I think it worked to their advantage because unbeknownst to him he was ready for more in his personal life and had already experienced success in his career. He spent so many years broken, trying to prove his usefulness to his parents that his love for Lia exacerbated all those flaws. My heart broke for him because I don't think he realized how he had created a little bubble for them, where they shied away from making big decisions. Once that bubble was burst he was left alone to figure out what he wanted for his family. Lia...fiery, intelligent, confident Lia. While studying in Europe abroad for her Master's degree, her life was forever changed. I want to also point out the excellence because at 22 is when most usually finish their Bachelor's degree. Lia was young, but life had already taught her so much...good and bad. Although she was scared she knew what love should look like. What was supposed to be a fun night, turned into a life changing experience between both Lia and Jude. They created a bubble where they avoided figuring out next steps, diving into hard issues and it left them only on love with the fluff. Instead of working on moving forward together both of them shielded themselves from the reality and insecurities they both held. It was hard for me to understand Jude's parents, their complaints were bs to me. Why force him to be and do something he finds no passion in. This story may be slow for some, but I think it was told perfectly for these guarded characters. They found comfort to a default in slowly going with the flow, when in reality they were both just scared. One call out is that I expected more of Finn. He was literally MIA to be Lia's bff. Definitely worth the read! ... show more

  • Brit meets American.
Lia is in London to study the Bronte sisters under a professor at Oxford, before classes started she did some sight seeing and stopped in a pub. After having a conversation with her twin Claire about being lonely and homesick she has a pint, while there she meets Jude, he stopped in to see his brother. They get into a heated discussion about football, American vs European, before Lia spills beer on het shirt and Jude offers her a change from the room over the bar. One thing leads to another and she spent the night with him there. After their one night together Lia has a rude surprise that she's pregnant and she figures out that Jude is a professional football player for England. How do you tell a man you only knew for a night that you're pregnant without him thinking the worst of you? Especially since you come from a family that I'd Football royalty in America? I really enjoyed this story and how both Lia and Jude handled the situation. There were funny times and sad times, but in the end an HEA ... show more

Enjoying these Wards sisters very much. No matter how much dysfunction a family has love triumphs it. Hard to resist an accented Brit.

  • Love the Ward Sisters Series!
"Don't be so consumed with what you're missing that you stop paying attention to what's in front of you.” Gosh I love these Ward sisters! Their connection and dedication to each other is my favorite part of the series. No matter the situation they are there for each other with no questions asked, even an ocean apart. Jude and Lia’s story was definitely an unexpected twist in the series, a surprise baby during a semester abroad in Oxford and the baby daddy is none other than a star footballer! Much to their older brothers dismay, the hot athlete attraction seems to have struck all of the sisters. Breaking away from her family in Seattle, Lia was living her dream of studying abroad, but being away from her tight knit family was harder than she expected. That feeling of loneliness was easily relatable and I could see how falling into bed with a hot British man was the perfect distraction. And Jude McAllister was a scrumptious treat of a man, his charming smile could win over any woman’s heart and Lia’s didn’t even stand a chance. Even with the unplanned pregnancy, Lia was feisty as ever and wasn’t going to let anyone keep her from being happy and protecting her new little family. While both had baggage relating to the relationship with their parents, Jude really held onto his feelings and emotions tight, it took a lot for him to open his heart fully and in waiting too long, did some damage to his relationship with Lia. I ached for him to open and heal his heart, knowing that being honest with his feelings was the only way to win Lia’s heart for good. Their love story was a rocky one but in the end they healed their hearts together and created a beautiful addition to the Ward family. “Sometimes, you proved your worth by showing what you were willing to give up.” And let me tell you, I am dang excited for the final book in this series next, that little snippet has me giddy! ... show more
