  • A new Elsie fave!!
Well, I might just have a new favorite Elsie Silver book!! I absolutely ATE this one up (and have already done a reread of it because it was that good). Wild Eyes is not only a top tier Elsie book, but it’s also easily one of my top ten books of the year!      So far, Wild Eyes is my favorite of the Rose Hill series (and I really did enjoy Wild Love, so that’s saying something). It has everything I love about Elsie’s books - the relatable inner monologues, the banter, the dual POV, the chemistry and the spice (my god, the spice 🥵). The plot and pacing were also really good - I ended up staying up way too late to finish it.       I really, really loved Skylar as a character - she was complex, interesting and most importantly, relatable. She had a lot of chaos in her life from page one a large part of her story was around conquering this and deciding what kind of life she wanted to live. Enter Weston, secret fanboy extraordinaire. From the jump he was supportive of Skylar (if a touch overbearing, in an endearing way), and was so perfect for her. They were the type of couple that even when they were just friends, I was rooting for them to be more. They worked really well together - their banter was top tier, their support of each other was lovely, and their chemistry was INSANE (don’t get me started on the spice). Also, I loved the family dynamic between Skylar and Weston’s family was so friggin cute.      Elsie Silver is keeping the romance girlies fed with this one - it’s got great banter, unreal steam and plenty of heart warming moments. I didn’t think anyone would dethrone Cade as my fave single father romance hero, but then Weston came onto the scene. I can’t wait for more Rose Hill in Wild Side!! ... show more

  • elsie silver killed it again!
4/5⭐️ 3/5🌶️ elsie silver’s books are always so darn good and i always feel so good when i read them. wild eyes was no exception! the only reason im not giving this a 5/5 is because i felt like i just wanted something a little more from the story. i’m not sure exactly what it was missing but i just felt like it needed just a little something else. i loved weston belmont! he was such a sweetheart and such a good dad. i loved how calm and patient he was with emmy and oliver and with sky. he was so attentive to their needs, so ridiculously funny, and had such a mouth on him🥵 skylar honestly annoyed me a bit at the beginning but she grew on me at the end. she was a really strong character and i loved how rose hill brought out the best in her. i loved her relationship with weston, especially their banter and their nicknames for each other emmy and oliver were the sweetest little kiddos 🥹 i loved their relationship with each other and their relationship with skylar. single dad romances are just so fun! i cannot wait for wild side💚 “Breathing is overrated. I’d rather be drowning in you” ... show more

  • LOVVVEEEDDD
Wild Eyes by Elsie Silver completely stole my heart. From the first page, I was hooked by the emotional depth, realistic characters, and the slow-burn romance that felt so genuine and earned. The main character was strong, sassy, and authentic, and I loved seeing her stand her ground and grow throughout the story. The chemistry between the characters was undeniable—though I personally wasn’t a big fan of them kissing as early as Chapter 8. I would’ve loved a bit more build-up, but hey, everyone’s different! One of my favorite parts was seeing West’s soft side, especially when it came to his kids. It added so much depth to his character and made the story even more heartwarming. This wasn’t just a romance—it was about healing, trust, and second chances. I didn’t want it to end. Easily one of my favorite reads this year. ... show more

  • 3.5/5 Wanted more Skylar!
Weston and Skylar were stinking cute! Their banter was adorable and chemistry was great! No issues with the romance of it all. The interaction with the kids added to the story and wasn’t just a random nod although I did want more of them in the latter half of the book. Weston was perfect from the beginning and did no wrong. I did think that Skylar’s growth was so much off page that it didn’t endear her to me. And I think she was initially written so strongly as a vapid celebrity that the sudden change just due to her not having a phone was too abrupt for me. I didn’t like that her career storyline felt like it was only written to hit some points in the plot. Ultimately I unfortunately felt like she didn’t need to have been written as a pop star, she could’ve just been any woman finding herself at a crossroads. Sex was hot and meeting the parents was wildly humiliating. I was dying laughing. The writing is very engaging so very much an enjoyable read. ... show more

  • ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Um, Weston Belmont is amazing. We met him in Wild Love, and he seemed like a bit of a loose cannon. However, his character development in Wild Eyes is swoon worthy. He is kind, funny, thoughtful, protective, and honest to a fault. The opening scene with the bear had me falling for his charm and wit. The relationship that Silver creates between Wes and his kids is also a huge selling point. Sometimes kids can be annoying in books. (At times, I’ll admit that I found Emmy irritating.) But Ollie is the showstopper. His struggle with selective mutism became one of the most special elements in his relationship with Skylar. Speaking of Skylar, she was so easy to root for. I didn’t get the sense that she was feeling sorry for herself as a successful starlet. Instead, she had genuine and deep-rooted trust issues due to a toxic relationship with her parents. Her reluctance to get close to Wes didn’t get boring because she was trying so hard to work on herself. The surprise in the third act was predictable but gut-wrenching. I cannot understand the pressure that women in Hollywood feel to live up to the expectations of complete strangers, and Silver did a fantastic job conveying that pain and frustration. Like all Elsie Silver books, there is plenty of spice in this book. The kids having time at their mom’s house was a necessity to give readers time with just Wes and Skylar. And the bowling scenes were an excellent way to track our future main characters Rhys and Sebastian. I hope they both live up to Wes! ... show more
