I purchased this as a gift for my fiance, and he cannot stop raving about it. I saw an ad about this camera on Facebook, and decided to take the plunge. Someone recently hit my fiance's car, and having a dash cam offers a bit more peace of mind in case something like that happens. He was able to get the camera set up quickly, and link it to his phone without issues. The video quality is amazing, day or night, and he's able to record long periods of video without needing to clear out the camera memory. The camera will also overwrite old footage if it runs out of storage, without needing to be manually cleared. He is absolutely obsessed with this, and is so happy with this camera so far. Hoping to get one for myself when it finally comes back in stock! Update, July 2022: I ended up buying myself a dash cam, and it paid itself off earlier this year by catching a hit and run driver! My car was parked in a parking lot and hit, and the person drove off. There was very obvious damage to my door and it ended up being an expensive fix. My dash cam turned on and caught the license plate, car color, and car type clearly during the night. We were able to find the driver and they were held responsible for the damages they did to my car. I also bought one for my dad, who is very excited to learn how to use his. This little dash cam is great, and I am so happy we have them for our vehicles!

The media could not be loaded. bought two Nexar Beam dash cams, one for me and one for my wife. Because of timing, neither was installed for several months. Once installed, they seemed fine at first. That honeymoon lasted about four months. After that, both cameras started failing in the exact same ways, at the exact same time. • Inconsistent recording • Random shutdowns • Wouldn’t stay powered on • Eventually couldn’t even stay on long enough to connect to the phone Customer support was an absolute nightmare. Slow, frustrating, and useless. Every “solution” they suggested was generic and ineffective. Reset this, reinstall that, blame the car, blame the cable — none of it fixed anything. Zero accountability. If this had happened to just one unit, I might’ve accepted it as bad luck. But both cameras failing simultaneously removes any doubt. This is a product reliability issue, not a fluke. To make things worse, the back of the camera is visibly bulging, like the battery or internal components are expanding. That’s not just poor quality — it’s concerning. At this price point, a dash cam should last years, not barely function for a few months before becoming unusable. I was ready to replace it out of necessity, but now Nexar has locked basic functionality behind a subscription, which didn’t exist when I originally bought these. That was the final insult. Bottom line: I paid a premium price for what turned out to be disposable hardware, terrible support, and now a forced subscription model. I feel completely screwed. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Nexar Beam. There are better, more reliable dash cams that don’t fail in under a year and don’t nickel-and-dime you after the fact.

I purchased this dashcam back in 2020. Been using it since. First and only dash am I’ve ver had. Installation is easy, and the app works great. There’re updates here and there so I’m glad Nexar didn’t just set this model aside due to age. I’ve had a few hiccups here and there, trios not being recorded, only have the gps map show, with no footage. Simple reset fixed it. The clarity and picture quality are amazing. I did notice that the audio recording died out - everything sounds muffled. Could be the mic gave out - but I turned off sound recording anyways. I haven’t experienced battery drain like most others here (could be since I keep my phone plugged in for CarPlay). This dashcam has paid for itself, I was a victim of a hit and run - and if it weren’t for the dashcam (got vehicle type, color, and license plate), I would’ve been left paying thousands out of pocket. I was also fortunate enough to purchase this before Nexar began their subscription service. Other than a few hiccups here and there, it is worth the money.

The camera is of great quality, the video looks nice and crisp. The reason for only giving it 3 starts is because of the lack of functions. You are not able to get the videos of the SD card through the app, which I think is ridiculous. Also if you use wireless Android Auto or Apple Carplay, you will not be able to have the camera constantly saving the videos to your phone as it interferes with the connection. Overall a good camera but not worth it due to the lack of features.

I have no complaints for a low cost dash cam 3 months in. Works well. Easy to install properly with the supplied directions. (YMMV depending on vehicle) Only complaint is it's slow to pick up a drive sometimes so you might want to double check. Close out your last drive helps. And the occasional message from the company to checkup on you for no reason. Overall, great bang for the buck! For the people complaining about heat, you don't have to stream. The camera will pickup when you power on the car and notify you it is recording in the background. If you don't get the message, open the app and verify it has started recording. Close the app and it will, once again, notify you it is recording in the background. It will notify you at the end of the drive to save it also. Nice that it picks up things like hard braking and such automatically. Or, you can manual take a clip if you are streaming by clicking on it. I use Bluetooth to connect to my stereo so no issues with Wi-Fi.
