I've been looking to pick up one of these 2 way Y hose connectors for my hose bib, however my local hardware store did not have any in stock (at least of the variety that I was looking for). I wanted a Y connector that was more durable than one a simple plastic connector so I was happy when I found the NEX 2 way Y hose connector. Construction is quite solid, fits like a glove, and is completely leak free. Attaching to the hose bib spigot was simple with the comfort knob. I used this Y splitter with a timer on one end and hose connected with a spray nozzle on the other end. This is great as it allows me to setup my sprinkler system and still allows me the flexibility to use the hose when needed. The valve leads works very well too: parallel to the connector to turn on and perpendicular to shut it off. The valves are a good size with rubberized layer making it easy to operate. I've used cheaper and/or other Y connectors where the plastic valves are just so small that it often becomes difficult to operate. So far the NEX 2 Way Y Hose connect done an excellent job in adding more flexibility for my outdoor lawn care needs. I don't know about Cal Prop Whatever. I don't care much about this little thing affecting water quality when water is being trashed everywhere on a grand scale. I'm pretty sure these little things are one of the few things in this country that don't have any lead. What I do care about is not dragging that stupid hose to the front and back of the place to water different stuff. I also care about it restricting flow. I also care about it breaking. And I care a lot about it developing a leak because we have a well. (And the water pump's $650) It does none of the above. It just enables me to connect two hoses that go in different directions and allows me to turn either one (or both) on or off with a simple quarter turn valve, thus uncomplicating life. I've had it since July, 2018. My initial analysis that it's constructed well seems to be borne out by the fact that it doesn't restrict flow, doesn't break, and doesn't leak, thus earning itself a solid 5 stars. And it really isn't what even a serious penny pincher would call outrageously expensive. ... show more

I purchased a similar looking 2 way hose splitter that works great about 3 weeks ago. unfortunately it was not available when I ordered this one. I thought they were the same item, because of the visual similarities. I was sadly mistaken. This splitter leaked the first time I put it on the faucet. I tried several times to get it to stop leaking without success. The design seems to be flawed where it screws onto the outside faucet. I wouldn’t recommend this item! ... show more

This is a very good quality for the money and doesn't leak as some I have used in the past. I purchased it to set up my hoses with a timer before going on vacation, and it works great with the timer.

No matter how hard I tightened, the top part leaked, even with washer. Threw it away because I already discarged the box. So mad and disappointed. Went to Home Depot and bought solid brass splitter for half the price.

This hose adapter is very convenient for dual purpose. I use mine to keep a hose on one outlet for the dog waterer, and the other outlet for my drip irrigation system. The adapter is made with metal covered with a rubber grip, the levers are easy to turn on and off and it installs quickly on a faucet, no tools required. My unit leaked. I tried many times to carefully install it on my external faucet. For whatever reason, this unit leaked where it mates with the faucet and there was no way for me to install it in a way that would prevent it from leaking. I made sure that there was a washer. This thing is literally just a piece of garbage. Our first one lasted two days before it started leaking below the metal ring on the split. I figured it was a fluke and so we got a replacement of the same thing... I turned the water on and it busted off entirely immediately.
