The doorbell is very bright, and the installation was SO easy. Just had to unscrew the old broken one and screw in the new one. The door chime works. I needed it to replace an old Blink doorbell that we didn't know could only run on batteries, so we needed to get a wired bell.

    • Great Doorbell Button Used for Momentary Alarm Bypass

This is a non-lighted button which was perfect for my use. I don't use this doorbell button for the intended use but rather use it so I can set my alarm when the main garage door is still open. I have my ovehead door on my home security system. In order to turn on an alarm all of the doors need to be closed first. My solution was to mount this doorbell button next to the alarm keypad (by interior garage door to house). I then wired the button in parallel to the door switch. Now I can set the alarm with the overhead door open by holding the button and then entering the code on the alarm to arm it. Then I can simply get in the car and leave and close the door. By no means will this help a bad guy since the button is momentary and it is nowhere near an entry point to be reached from a broken window or such. I picked a non-lighted button as a lighted one with a neon bulb would not work in my application. PROS: - Clean looking switch - Non-lighted so it can be used as a momentary switch - Reliable and simplistic in operation - Durable and will probably outlast me CONS: - None found ... show more

This was super easy to install but not sure if I installed it incorrectly (if that is even possible) since my doorbell is not lighted and I did buy the lighter version. I did confirm there is a light in there. Maybe mine is defective? I might return or try another. 3 stars for now. Update. Woke up to the doorbell ringing all night.
