  • Works good, looks good, Decent price as compared to other brands - 1/2 the price, of a Dometic…
Style: 80 Qt Cooler Pattern Name: Cooler
Bought THIS one, because of the price and features - Using it, instead of cooler with ice… (closest ice, was 20 miles away, down narrow mountain roads!!!) Since it has Wheels, And internal Baskets, it is easy to move wherever needed - even when fully loaded… Where you can’t roll it, like in/out of the back of a truck - or up/down stairs, you just pull out the baskets of food and drinks , and make the move without having to lift a heavy cooler Full of food and drinks… Kept refrigerator side cold at 33 degrees, and freezer side at 20 degrees, running off of a Car battery - While on a week long camping trips… Awesome to own/Use… ... show more

  • Read the Description
Style: 115 Qt Cooler Pattern Name: Cooler
It is amazing reading these reviews of how many people don’t read how this works. “SPOILER ALERT” YOU NEED A POWER SOURCE! Either using the manufacturer supplied batter (sold separately) along with a solar panel to maintain charge. Or A stand alone solar generator like a Jackery or Anker Personally have not any problems with it. One issue was maintaining freezing temps in the freezer side, but it was in a 100+ temps and it lost power and couldn’t recover back down. Fridge side was still good and maintained all foods perfectly. That was my own fault. Used it camping and at a festival And as a secondary drink cooler for parties at the house. ... show more

  • Do Not Buy Serious Problems (I tried two!)
Style: 80 Qt Cooler Pattern Name: Cooler
The first one that I bought the temperatures would not adjust, like it was stuck. You could adjust the temperatures on the display but they stayed at 23 and 45 degrees. Regardless of what temperature you set them too. I called the customer services at NewAir, nice people, didn't have to wait long on hold. They proceeded to read me the exact manual instructions I was holding on how to change the temperature. I asked them if they knew any other tricks and they asked me to email their general customer service department to see if maybe someone else had an idea. I contacted Amazon (Saints by the way) and asked for an EXCHANGE. That's right, I was really stoked on this electric cooler, so I figured I'd just get another one because this had to be just a horrible fluke, bad luck, right? Right? WRONG!!!! The second New Air electric cooler arrives, I plug it in and adjust the temperatures and come back the following morning. The temperatures were close, like within 7-10 degrees of the temperatures selected, 5 degrees and 40 degrees. I came back that night and they were still about 7-10 degrees off. Look, I'm just using this as a refrigeration alternative to buying ice all the time when I camp. 7-10 degrees seems like pretty inaccurate but for me, I could live with that. THE PROBLEM was that when I unplugged the cooler, it turned off. What? The whole purpose of this cooler is to be mobile, as in you take it camping without electricity. If I wanted a plug in refrigerator this wouldn't be my first choice. But, that's what they sent me. A portable electric cooler that either couldn't hold a charge or was defective in that it would not turn on unless plugged in. I called New Air customer service, again, great friendly people, short wait time, but they read me the owners manual on how to hit the freaking power button. And then the 'master reset' instructions that I had also already tried a few times from the manual. Again, I was asked to email their customer service department. Don't bother calling their customer service department if you already read the manual, you are wasting your time. So I sent it back and got a refund. Amazon was amazing, so if you want to take a chance, you know they have your back. ... show more

  • Good cooler and seller!
Style: 80 Qt Cooler Pattern Name: Cooler
I purchased this unit to work off of solar panels for when I am camping in remote locations. In general, it has been a good buy and I would recommend it to others. I have not measured power consumption, but I have never had any issues running out of power with my 300W panel / battery configuration. I run a few other things off of the panel as well (phone charger, inverter with laptop). I am farther north, so I only assume 4 hours of peak energy storage from the panels per day. The system does what it was designed for - keeping things cold. The refrigerator side does just fine as does the freezer side. Now, with that said - there are some temperature swings on the freezer side. It does not hold a constant steady temperature. I set the freezer at about 10oF. It will swing from around 5 or 6 at a low point - to say 12 or 13 at the high end. I also notice that the items in the bottom of the freezer stay very cold, while those at the top - less so. Ice cream near the top will be soft. But, let's be reasonable here - heat comes in the top and the cold surfaces are along the sides. Plus, in my case I packed it very full - strategically putting things that fit in the spaces allowed. So there is not any easy way for air to circulate to aid cooling at the top. The refrigerator side fluctuates a bit as well - but no issues (set around 35 or 36oF). I have had two of these because the first one had a problem and was returned. The seller sends along a card that says - contact them if there are any issues. So, I contacted them and the communication was good. They actually sent out the new unit before I could even start returning the old unit. That was good because I could use the box from the new one to ship the old one back in. The control panel either stopped working or lighting up. It kept cooling for a while after the lights quit. But eventually, after a number of days the whole unit did stop working. So I started using the replacement unit once it arrived. I am currently using the unit while I flip a house. So, it is my primary refrigerator and freezer. It has been running 24/7 for a couple of months. I am running it off 110V at present. I probably have a month solid of usage on 12V and the solar system - primarily outside in the elements (temperature changes from 20s to the 70s). It was sheltered from the rain, etc. ... show more
