UPDATE 12/29: Yay, received a new unit that works! And it’s just what I was looking for. It heats the small space of my van using much less energy and without the overheating that my other fan-type ceramic heater does. Radiant heat rocks! The thermostat means that the heater turns on and off, and this uses less electricity overall—which also means I will be able to use it with my Bluetti portable battery. Bottom line, although the first one was defective, it was an easy return and reorder through Amazon, and I am very satisfied with the heater (including the feet). ORIGINAL: Just received and plugged in and no heat. The on light comes on but no heating happens. Tried the “reset button” but cannot tell if anything happens. The dial is turned to max. Will call customer service and perhaps try ordering another to see if this one is just faulty. Disappointed ☹️ AFTER CUSTOMER SERVICE CALL = raised one-star Customer service was quick and very friendly. Ultimately they said that I must have a "defective" unit. I am returning this one and have ordered another. Will update review once that heater is in hand.

I wanted something slim to keep in my upstairs bathroom and something that did not draw alot of power. This unit is quite slim and 400 watts max. There's a dial so I guess if you turned it halfway you'd be using 200 watts approx. Heats up quickly and silently and quite does the job in my 7x5 bathroom. You are not supposed to get it wet- it says on the box don't use it in the bathroom. But use some common sense and don't splash it, don't keep it too close to the sink, and turn it off n move it away from the shower before showering. It makes no noise at all while it is warming up or maintaining heat. The only noises it makes are when you turn it off. Then it makes some decently loud clicks every couple of minutes for about 10 or 15 minutes. No big deal. Would be nice if there was another handle on it so you could pick it up with two hands to move it. Some have complained about the legs not being sturdy. I had a little bit of difficulty getting the legs to snap on as they should, but did triumph in the end, and it is quite sturdy. Would recommend for other small rooms or as a personal heater... next to bed, next to couch, etc. Very nice, very happy with purchase. UPDATE 2/8/2018. Still working well for my bathroom. Helps out a lot before getting in the shower in the morning, as I turn the heat down to 68 at night. My bathroom, and the rest of my upstairs is like 60 degrees on a cold morning (upstairs 60, downstairs 68- bad insulation I guess) and this little heater does a great job of quickly getting my bathroom close to 70 by the time I get in the shower. Also, tho I don't take HOT showers, this heater also keeps the mirror from fogging up, and I lay my semi-wet towel across it when I finish drying off (turning off the heater and not covering the vent.) Does a nice job too of warming my socks up when I get home from work. Update: 10/22/14...... I have recommended this heater to a few people. It's a shame there are a few bad reviews here JUST due to some of the heater's feet. Some older models had plastic feet and this caused issues with breaking legs and instability. Mine are metal, and have caused me no issues whatsoever- never had to re-adjust the feet. If you are on the fence about buying it, don't be. Update 1/13/2016......Ordered another one for my drafty kitchen for mealtime. Checked the feet on both units- I am pretty sure they ARE plastic! Magnets slide right off. My apologies to those I may have offended. Sounds and feels like metal when you tap it. Very strong though, and I have had zero issues with it. I guess a few people got duds.

I plunged it in, but it simply would not turn on. I thought this one is easy because not complicated. Book said can reset it with an insulated stick. I am 77 years young & I have no tools, so where is the stick? It did show where to reset it, so I may could have done that. I am A slammed into my car, so I currently have no transportation. NO NEED to tell me where to take it. It has to work when I get it (NEW). Also, I only ordered it one time & I Do NOT WANT another one. UPS came yesterday 1-31-18 picked up the last of the 3 headers I really wanted the TRN0812 DeLonghi Heater. 6 deliveries for 1 heater does not make good business sense,especially since when I still do not have one that works . I think I am getting returns instead of new ones. Reason for ordering is the $150.00 electric bill. That is high for old conservative me. I now have moved into one room with the only heater that works, the DeLonghi EW7707CM with the Comfort temperature (gray). I love the color. Works great so far. I would still like to have the T R N 0812T if I could get off the reject list & better instructions on the timer. I have A large area where 3 rooms are open. I believe these 2 heaters would keep them warmer & cut that electric bill at least 20%. I had a 2 story home in another town where I had a large open space in the middle of the house. I had oil heaters in 3 bedrooms, ceiling fans in every room, 3 solar panels on the roof for the hot water,,2,200square ft. My electric bill was usually only $110.00 per month. (Also a fireplace). The electric Co. had to come out & see why my bill was so low, when my neighbors bill was $400.00 or more with almost same size house. IMOGENE

*Sticky label on unit AND operating Instructions which come with the Newair portable 400-watt Under Desk Heater both say: "Place the heater on a firm, level surface free from obstructions, and at least 3 ft. away from objects such as furniture, curtains, plants or combustible material. My desk is facing against a wall so the heater would need to be placed against the wall made of drywall. Drywall can combust. *Revised review. I was going to return it but my friend said to try it. I keep it about 8 inches from the wall and turn it on about half way. It doesn't get too hot and it is saving my knees which get too much pain when they feel cold. It's silent and my only complaint is about the flimsy feet and wish the thermostat was more sensitive. Heat does not go out the side only from front and back. It should not be touched on the metal part or it will burn you. Though it is under my card-table desk, the top of desk does not get too hot. I am glad I bought it. It's much better than the noisy fan heater I had before. *second update: the foot started cracking in the middle. I wrote the supplier and replacement feet were sent to me immediately. No hassle. I like this company. I like the heater. *third update. because it is so thin, the oil doesn't stay hot for long. it has to cycle on and off frequently and because it is directly by the knees they feel burning then cold. you must reach down and under your desk to turn it on again. I stopped using it.

Love this little thing. Been using for about one month now. Throws off quite a bit of heat for 400 watts. Heats both sides, front and back. Heats me and the things around me as it is radiant heat. Easy to move with the handle when running. Thermostat knob allows for adjusting heat. The feet give enough space from floor for carpets and don't fall off when you move it. I run off the top of my solar batteries during the day and it doesn't even use the battery and just running off the solar panels. Registers at 396-400 watts (120 VOC, 3.3 amp), so wattage is right on. And on the wattage, this is a 400 watt heater so you don't want to expect that of 1500 watt heater, Energy usage is that of about six lightbulbs, but it really throws a lot of heat for a 400 watt heater. Great bang for the buck and fits in small places. A $$$ saver even if you are not running on solar. I can feel it pretty well at about 2 2/3 to 3 ft. Ran the thermometer gun on it and runs at about 205-215 degrees fahrenheit on both sides of the plate front AND back. You have to wait a couple minutes for it heat you and the stuff around you as it is radiant heat. Works great as supplement heat and to provide heat where I am. Would be able to run all night if needed on the solar batteries if there was an emergency power outage. Radiant oil heat means no blower, quiet and no more dried out skin, hair and eyeballs from a hot air heat blower fan. That is a big deal as I do a LOT of computer work and eyeballs get sore enough. Well built and I would expect years of heat from this baby. Will take good care of it for summer storage. Bought more solar so ordered another New Air heater today and will probably buy another as they can be placed where I need them and to helps offset exploding home heating and electricity costs (thanks biden). Quite happy with the performance of the New Air heater. I guess they say there is no better compliment to retailer than a return customer. Appreciate new air for the ingenuity of low wattage and quality. Really happy with this heater. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a low watt heater.

Updated my 5-year review (below) after another year of use: I hope this comes back in stock as it’s a solid, dependable heater. Mine is now used at home overnight for 10+ hours per day during three seasons, for almost 6 years, and it continues to provide dependable, cost-efficient heat. Quiet, excellent thermostat, takes up minimal floor space, tip- over shutoff works well, easy to clean. ———— I did a fair amount of research and chose this unit based on good reviews. I purchased it to augment weak forced air heat in my small office in a drafty, converted old house and it was perfect--quiet (I didn't want a fan cycling on and off, this unit makes a barely audible "tick" sound), highly efficient, easily portable with the built-in handle, the slim design takes up very little space, and the thermostat keeps the temp evenly comfortable all day. I've experienced none of the problems (leaking, no heat) that other reviewers mentioned and we're heading into year five of steady fall/winter/early spring use. In the summer it goes back into its box and stays on its side underneath a couch, and it still looks and operates as well as it did when new. For the price I think it's a great buy and I may purchase a second unit for another room.

I bought this for a good sized bathroom - not sure of the square footage but I would say it's about 12 ft long by 7 wide. I have the heater on a time so it turns on in the morning for about an hour and a half. Pleasantly surprised that it heats the entire bathroom and at less wattage than the big radiator style heaters. I love the slim profile and simple controls. I am kicking around the idea of replacing the huge radiator style heaters I have in a few other rooms just to save the space. Not sure why there were other reviews that had problems with the heater's plastic feet at the bottom. Ours went on fine and are more than study enough on our tile floor. I would probably suggest putting the heater on flat surface if there are issues with it tipping. A great value for the quality! Love it!

I use this 400 W heater in 8 x 8 insulated chicken coop. Guess what? Girls thought it is summer and here I am...have baby chickens in January 2nd!!! I took kids home now and keep in spare bathroom. If coop door is closed than inside is 10C when outside -15C. Chickens refuse to go outside! So heater is doing good! It is wery hot to touch!!! I welded small raised stand and bolted to the floor just for safety. In small bathroom it will keep comfortable. Maybe in small bedroom as well if door closed. You will increase temp if put some small fan blowing on heater - that boosts heat take off out of heater. The downside of heater - very flimsy footers!!! No trust to footers at all... plastic and cheap and not secure. So it is like a project heater, for someone who can secure it additionally by top of unit or it shakes badly! Think it this way, there is a very hot heater with no footers... and it is up to you how to secure😕
