Pros: quiet. Has fast freeze option. Has digital display so you know when it’s on. Freezes quickly. Keeps cold if power is out for a short time. Great performance, great value for the money. Cons: It has a vacuum seal feature each time you open the lid. So if you need to open it continuously, you will not be able to and have to wait for the seal to release. I wanted a freezer to store bargain food purchases, as well as to store soups and other food that I make in bulk to eat later. When I make a big pot of soup, I can only eat so much before I get tired of it, so freezing is a great option for me. I grew up with a freezer in the house and loved the advantages. A small chest like this seemed to be a perfect fit where I had room below a window, and this was a nice size for me at 6.7 cubic feet. I bought this here on Amazon and installed it in early February of 2022. I hated that my UPS man was a little careless, and there were a couple small dents that likely would have been prevented with some foam inside the box. Not a huge deal. I hated that it is grey, and not white. But I loved the digital temperature display on the top of the lid, and I loved the light that automatically illuminates when you lift the lid, because where I have it is in a dark room. It worked like a champ until end of August 2023 (not quite 18 months later) and it quit. The digital display flashed "FU" and that's pretty much how I felt. I emptied it (it was full, and I had to beg space in the freezers of two neighbors), and let it defrost, which is the first recommended step in troubleshooting. Customer Support says it is not fixable and needs to be replaced. The factory warranty is one year, and since at the time the extended warranty pushed the price to the $550 range, I took a gamble, and I lost. My $485 (with tax) freezer cost me about $27/month, not including electricity. So much for bargain shopping. Been looking around. It seems that for not much more, I can get a name brand with a self-defroster, that hopefully will last longer than 18 months. ... show more

I waited a few days to test this actual 6.7 cu ft chest freezer' settings and listen for the running noise level. This freezer is easily the best constructed freezer I have ever owned and I owned quite a few over the years! Pluses: The packaging,the grey color blends in with my stainless appliances,build quality,the led light in the lid,the quickness to get to -14 degrees,and maintaining the -14 degrees with the lid open briefly. Make No mistake,you will do well to find a better made chest freezer. The Amazon delivery people were very helpful with texting me of impending arrival and positioning the carton so I could maneuver it with a hand truck. Only 1 minor negative was a small dent in the inside shelf. SUMMARY:The chest freezer is a beast! Buy it! ... show more

This is my second Newair Freezer. I found out about them from a YouTube channel that uses solar power energy efficient appliances. I tried it and was very happy with the results. It runs 24/7 on an OUPES MEGA 5 solar generator. When the compressor comes on, it only takes 75 watts which makes it easy for me to also connect a small portable AC to the same generator. I have another older freezer in the garage that is also solar powered and noticed it run with about 40 to 50 more watts than the Newair. This latest Newair freezer actually came 3 weeks before the scheduled delivery. I’ve seen complaints of dents but both my freezers were package properly and came with no dents or blemishes.
