Description

(New & Improved tip for longer life) We have been working with our diamond tip manufacturer to make a tip that will last longer. They have improved the process which makes a better quality tool) 1/4" DIAMOND DRAG ENGRAVING TOOL WITH 90° TIP This is a brand new spring loaded drag engraving tool with a 90 degree diamond tip. (See the diagram to show the actual angle of the tool) Many people are confused by what angle you are actually getting. I drew the sketch to help clarify the tool. It can be used on any engraving machine that has a 1/4" collet. With this type of tool you are able to do very detailed engravings on uneven surfaces and the engraving remains even. The tool does not rotate so you do not need to run the spindle. These are perfect for engraving several types of material including brass, aluminum, fiber board, acrylic, plastic painted surfaces and much more. The tool has a precision ground 1/4" diameter stainless steel body with an 1/8" diamond bit that extends out by approximately 1/2", the overall length is approx. 2" & there is up to 3/8" travel. These are made in our own machine shop by skilled machinists & each one is inspected and tested before packaging. Don't be fooled by our low price, these are high quality tools made in the USA on CNC machines. If you have any questions please contact us before buying. Thanks for looking and Happy Engraving! We also have replacement tips available. Skeleton, Piranha, Laguna, Shark, 3020, 3040, 3060, Taig, Sherline, LXG0609, 2020, 2030, 2040, Oliver, Rising, Konmison, Sanvn, Gtsun, Sungoldpower,

  • Answer to the one star reviews
The only reason this is 4 stars is that the seller should include some basic instructions. After buying this I hooked it up to my xcarve, I used 2mm depth for downforce but it just seemed to skate over the surface and didn't do much of anything.. I then read the reviews, others were also saying that it didn't cut for them, or that it went dull. It appeared to do this for me, one letter printed out OKish but everything else was way too light. I ran the cut 5 times to get anything viewable. I printed out my return label and was about to ship it off, when I saw a youtube video from Carbide Create. They show that their bit has a screw on the inside to set the spring tension. For plastics and softer things it needs to be low, but for glass I had to turn the thing nearly all the way down. I used glass I bought from home depot, 10x12 x 3/32 -- thinner glass may break. Again I put the set screw nearly all the way down, and then tested it out on a piece of glass I ruined in the first attempt to make sure I get the depth correct. It worked perfectly. Once I had it dialed in -- I cut a sign with flowers and it looked pretty amazing. The only flaw was Easel which thinks I am using a 1/32 bit that spins, and the depth of 2mm makes some of the details on my fonts unreadable - easel's fault not the bit. Probe -- the diamond is not conductive using xcarve's probe, and in this case depth doesn't really matter if it's off a few thousandths, the spring will take up the slack. have it hit just the edge of the probe on the side of the bit's v point. That worked for me. ... show more

  • Excellent little engraving bit, especially for low power machines.
This drag engraver works by driving a spring-loaded diamond tip into the material, and dragging it to make the engraving. This means that you don’t have to have a powerful machine to mark hard metals like stainless or hardened tool steel. I used it on a cheap 1610 CNC machine, and the results are phenomenal. As long as you set the correct spring tension for the material, you will get a precise, clean engraving every time. ... show more

  • Good for acrylic, but quite useless on glass
It engraves nicely on acrylic but got dull pretty fast on glass (non tempered). The scratches were very good at the beginning but during the project (this Lamborghini on a piece of 30x24cm glass), the scratches were harder and harder to see until there were no scratches to be found anymore. It can still be used on acrylic though. This picture was after the bit got dull on the glass (I don't have a picture of that) and re-engraved on acrylic. ... show more

  • Good drag bit
Decided to take a chance on this bit. Works well on acrylic Made over 15 edge lit signs so far and still cuts like new

  • Works perfectly on CNC
Bought this bit in 2019, but just found a use for it in 2023. It worked great at 40% power setting using Aspire. Set my clearance, plunge, and Z gap above material all to .15, using 90 deg bit. I will be purchasing the 60 & 120 deg bits for other projects.
